Over the last 30 days he has the highest plus/minus stats of all Lakers.

This means that Lakers scored 45 points more than their opponents, when Vujacic was in the game.

vujacic gets in the game when its time to win, and everyone tightens things up. no more silly To's, no more silly blown layups, and guys start knocking down jumpers, including sasha.

what sasha is, is a guy who isn't going to make a ton of mistakes. because he's not going to take a ton of chances.. at least not on offense. this is a good thing and bad thing. good thing when we play teams who he just cant get around and score on. bad thing when we play losing teams or hurt teams like these last few. sasha needs to have 14 points in those games, and not just 3's neither. if teams learn that you're nothing more then a spot up shooter, they'll be able to key in on kobe and yourself alot easier.

Sasha imo is the most fundamentaly sound player on our team. He always looks to pass first. He doesnt look like he belongs to this team at all. He looks like he belongs on a team like the Spurs, which is probably why they had eyes on him in the draft.

i don't think the words "sasha" and "best" can be used in the same sentence.

Sasha plays well with Kobe. He hustles on Defense, and it is rarely his fault when the opponents score. He holds his own against Chris Paul and other quick gaurds, and he's more valuable then most fans think. The league is going to "the speed game" and Sasha fits. I think next year he could start at PG bc he still second guesses himself, but playing with Kobe has helped his confidence to stay aggressive. He lacks an inside game, but he's an incredible free throw shooter. He should learn to pick up fouls with the new league rules to get some frees.

Sasha seems very sound fundamentally. He's one of those guys without much physical talent, but he plays hard every second and knows his fundamentals. When he develops his skills some more and starts playing with some true confidence, he could be a solid guy off the bench instead of the butt of so many jokes.

Sasha knows the triangle, already. He's got high BBall IQ. He's not the fastest, most athletic player but he works his tail off and is an asset on the court.

People who bash Sasha, IMO, have a very limited understanding of the overall game, especially within a team concept.

yes i agree with everything you said. but you have to understand the other side to it. since sasha is not athletic(not that you have to be at 6'7 playing pg). he doesn't even have the real desire to do certain things. like Dunk on someone or to really take someone hard to the rack. maybe he does think about it. but since he knows he cant at least not yet. he doesn't try to. this makes his job easier and therefore he makes less mistakes because he doesn't to many things on offense but shoot the open 3. if he missed thats the only mistake he will make on offense.

now if he had those abilities to take someone strong off the dribble. he would make more mistakes trying to do that perhaps not being within the offense while he's doing it.

look, it aint hard to swing the ball around and hit and occasional wide open trey. but its very hard to make a good decision on when to drive, when to pass, when to shoot, or even when to drive and kick, etc.

so part of his game is actually a negative for the lakers. its just like luke walton over passing it. its great at first, but when the guy isn't a ball player just a 5th man on the court to make it 5 on 5, then thats a problem. and sasha becomes this if his jumper isn't hitting because he doesn't have a plan b to go to.

A couple of games ago, he started to drive to the basket. He's not passing or shooting while driving to the basket but still it's good to see.

Plus, he's very clutch(ie the Utah game).

For a player drafted with the 27th pick, he's a pretty good and promising young player.

Sasha is a solid player except for 2 things I notice:

Stupid tickytack fouls on the perimeter.
Still can't make shots in the NBA.

And apparently, the second one is the most important for his role.

I don't bash him cuz he gives 100% and loves to compete, at least he tries, unlike Odom

WHAT!!!!!!!

When I joined this forum in the summer, all everyone would talk about is how horrible Sasha is. People where on the verge of wanting him dead because he had no promise at all. I read several times people saying that he would never EVER turn into even a decent baller.

I did take all that criticism with a grain of salt, due to the fact I didn't see any games last year. You guys were hating on Mitch because he drafted someone that couldn't start on day one. But now you guys are praising him. Talking about how much promise he has.

LOL I really don't know what my point is, but maybe we won't be so harsh on rookies in the future, until we at least give them more than one season.

Sasha is still only 21 years old. He's still adjusting to the NBA. Steve Nash wasn't an instant success.

Other than Kobe, probably. Now if he can only make a shot, he would be a good facilitator.

True, Nash didn't become good till he was 27 then he became Dallas's starter. And plus that was 27 in Canadian years.

Sasha seems to save his makes for practice. Eventually, we will see them in games as he begins to be able to relax a bit.

Plus/minus stats can be very misleading.

You have to remember that most coaches tend to sub certain players
along with other certain players, or in very specific situations.

It's still a stat worth throwing out (no knock on the thread idea!), but ya
gotta be careful cuz some people take that stat to mean too much. Heck,
if it meant as much as some think then you could make a case for Sasha
being better than Kobe over that span, and I think we all agree that's not
the case

Sasha's talent will be more useful when the tempo of the Lakers offense picks up. When will it pick up? When everybody is relaxed with the triangle. When wiil this happen? I do not have an iota of an idea!
