Or if they go 71-11 and then also don't win the championship.
Not sure which would be funnier. |
I'd say that the Spurs are the favorites to win it all this year
Earlier in the season, the Warriors looked unstoppable - and were winning easily. Lately, defending teams have been figuring out how to slow them down - and they've also looked a lot more human for the last 6 weeks or so, almost like the championship last year and this seasons hype has been catching up to them.
The Spurs on the other hand, seem to be exactly the reverse. Early in the season they didn't look all that good and they couldn't get on the same page with LMA. Yeah, they were winning but it was ugly and disconnected. Lately, they've gotten it together and look pretty unstoppable.
Even if GSW wins 72 or 73 games, I think the Spurs take them in the playoffs barring another fluke like last year |
You have an opinion and that's fine but don't lie. Warriors are the favorites, that's a fact. |
The Warriors may be the favorites according to the Vegas law makers, but I'd consider them and the Spurs pretty even. I don't see a lot of difference between 69 and 65 wins. Both are great teams, and both under the right circumstances can beat the other. |

There is always at least one media fanboy who will vote for their favorite player over the most deserving player. I think an argument could be made for Kawhi Leonard because of his defense, and because the Spurs' record is also great. Lebron will get some votes. I would vote for Curry. |

A vote for Lebron makes sense, he should be in the conversation. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Curry could be unanimous, but usually some voter goes for someone else.
If it makes you feel any better though, one idiot voted for Carmelo Anthony in 2012-13 to deny Lebron a unanimous MVP. |

Worst criterion of all time. It's much tougher to go from #2 team to #1 team than it is from #30 to #10. _________________ RIP Kobe |

Potentially, 73-9 when a player has gone from MVP to MVP / MIP (arguably) is a pretty good argument for unanimous, but it probably won't happen. I'm not sure anyone has had a more magical season, however. He hits circus shots when he drives, he hits shots from three with guys in his face, and he hits shots from crazy range. Then, beyond all of that, he hits shots that go beyond long range. He hits heaves at the the end of quarters at a percentage I'm not sure we've seen before. Even yesterday he hit a shot from the opposite 3 point line, although it was in his hand when the buzzer sounded. It is just crazy. If the W's win the championship, this will be a single season by a player for the ages. I'm 55. I've never seen anything like it. |

I'd vote for him, but if one voter out of 130 or whatever it is casts his vote for Leonard, Lebron or Durant, I think it would suck, but I understand the case you can make. I mean, getting 100% of a large group to agree on anything is unusual. |
