Seriously. We had a 5-game win streak at the end of last year, but everyone was freaking out because it jeopardized their draft pick. This is the first one we all could enjoy since the 2012-13 season. |
Only the people who didn't understand that the difference between the 2 slot (56%) and the 3 slot (47%) was 9% and instead proclaimed that we had lost the pick by winning.
You were obviously not one of those folks GT, and I don't have the heart to bump the tank thread again, but there was some funny stuff in there at the end of last season.
This current win streak is even better, though, as we're seeing our young guys take it to another level. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. |

I think Clarkson's legs have been shot recently too.... How many teams scrimmage hard, often, during the regular season? I heard JVG say a lot of teams don't really practice... Doesn't Luke scrimmage the guys often? |

Not sure, but Kuz did say after the game he felt more like his usual self after Luke gave them the day off yesterday. |

I love days we win, because I don't have to read about lineups on this thread. |

Why was Randle buried on the bench playing 11 mins a game? Might’ve won a few more games if he played more. |

There are simple, basic coaching 101 things that Luke fails to do that drive me crazy.
Today up 5 in OT with 8 sec left and two timeouts, he doesn't use one them to advance the ball into the frontcourt. Instead, he lets them inbound the ball in the back court under pressure, and they throw the ball across the lane to KCP, who caught it a few feet from their own basket.
If that pass gets picked off it's a very quick layup and all of a sudden it's a 3 point game with 6 seconds left.
Just stupid to not use a timeout there to advance the ball. |

I thought you're supposed to take the ball out from the baseline if you want to waste time? Since you have more court to with with? Any coaches here? |

You want to eliminate the possibility of a turnover under your own basket. |

Any other coaches with input?
Oh right.
Cuz the rules changed where you can cross back over to the backcourt.
That makes sense. |

Unless Jeanie has something to say about it. Great move to support his HC after hearing these unsubstantiated rumor.

There wasn't a baseline out of bounds play at the end of ot either way. It was a sideline out of bounds after Josh Hart got fouled on the defensive rebound. Lonzo decided to throw it back towards the Mavs basket for kcp to catch because he has cajones
You could her Stu go "ooo" on lonzos pass because of how risky it was lmao |

I never said it was on the baseline. It was a sideline OOB that Luke elected to let remain in the backcourt instead of advancing the ball with a timeout. The sideline inbound pass still runs the risk of a turnover under your own basket, as we saw today. |

Ah thanks.
So it was sideline and we were already had the whole court to work with? |

I don't see why you would call that under the basket. But anyways like you try to inbound, if you can't inbound before a 5 second violation then call a timeout and advance, try to inbound and timeout again if you risk a 5 second violation Calling a timeout instantly wastes a full opportunity.
Also I just saw the Mavs replay for that inbound and their color commentator was like "ooo" on lonzos pass too hah |

You call a timeout and it let’s the defense set up as well.
A quick inbounds pass while the defense is scrambling is a good play, and you still have a timeout option if you can’t get the ball inbounded. I don’t see the problem. |

You can say this is a soft portion of the schedule but if these cats finish in the high 20s low 30s in wins, as flawed as the roster is, not only should Luke not be fired. They should throw a freakin parade for him lol |

Suns and Nets have better records. This team has more talent. |

So with the owner and president tweeting and the owner and gm meeting with Luke to assure him, was Brian "this may not be true" windhorst wrong? Were some here giving credence to windy? |
