You can try to play like the Warriors, but without Steph, Klay, Durant, and Dray you’re not gonna get there.

We're playing like the anti-Warriors though. It's reflecting on the win-loss record as well.

Luke talking about how good Lance was defensively against Harden.

But if that was the case, why did he switched Hart on Harden late in the game? Harden basically flopped his way to the free throw line against Hart afterwards.

He’s not lying, I noticed Lance’s dribbling was limited and he didn’t make any brain-dead decisions. His defense was solid too, I still don’t want him to start though.

The coaching staff told Lance to stop killing the offense with his one on one stuff.

Yeah, I’m actually wondering if we should be aspiring to lead the league in pace. If so, why?

Magic and Pelinka think this is the formula to beat the top teams in the league rather than following the formula teams are currently using.

In their favor is that nearly the entire league is playing crazy fast so far this season. Of course, teams are playing crazy fast and shooting 3s.

We look so lost defensively. I'm seeing some guys think they're switching while others stick with their man, etc. This type of disorganization is inexcusable at this level.

It's a brand new team, did you expect 80's Pistons level of defense after two games

No, but I expect players to know what type of defense they should be playing.

There's some of that. There's also a lot of players just getting flat out beat off the dribble (Hart and Kuzma).

This style of playing at a hyper pace on offense is definitely affecting the defense They may have to dial it down some on the pace to add more balance on defense Lebron looks winded out there in the second half to me.

Nick Young would fit into Luke's GS2 plans,

and since we already have a few characters on the team what's one more?

Running is fun to watch if you play defense, but they have no defensive presence at all. It's just a race track that wears everybody down so that in the 4th you have nothing left in the tank.

LOL. Coach to the smarties who don't know what a minutes restriction is.

Luke shouldn't be posting up LeBron on a team of non-shooters. Right now doesn't makes a lot of sense.

Quote:
LeBron's just out on the post having to Charles Barkley his back to the basket but even the opposing teams have been staying close to surround LeBron in the post, giving a lot of space to his teammates daring them to actually hit a shot which they haven't.

We're playing like the anti-Warriors though. It's reflecting on the win-loss record as well.

Such a stupid offensive system. You can't just out run teams for 2s like it's the 80s. You have to shoot and make 3s in today's game to win. All this running is tiring out the players legs making it harder to shoot 3s especially late in games.

I wonder how true that is.

Top 5 teams in pace last year, and their rank in 3pt%:

1. Pelicans - 13th (36.2%)
2. Suns - 30th (33.4%)
3. Lakers - 29th (34.5%)
4. 76ers - 10th (36.9%)
5. Warriors - 1st (39.1%)

Tough to say. The suns and lakers make a great case for that. There's so many other variables. Would the Lakers being lower in pace increase their 3 pt%? They'd definitely have less fast break points for sure.

I disagree. We have the best transistion finisher of all time, multiple other great transition finishers, and 2 of the best pace setters in the game who can push tempo without turning the ball over. We aren’t going to shoot this poorly all year. LBJ, Kuz, Ingram will shoot better than they have been. The problems are defense and rebounding.

I believe there is a place for the Lakers running strategy. I feel like pace is a thing in every sport outside of baseball. Put pressure and stress the defense. However, you still need to shoot and make a respectable amount of 3s.

What the Lakers are doing right now is like an NFL team handing the ball off to the RB and playing smashmouth football with no ability to hit a deep pass.

Another analogy is the slow footed LA Kings who are stuck trying to grind teams to death like the golden era Cup days while the opponent skates around them. The NHL is all speed now while the kings are still trying to grind games along the boards.

You have to adapt to sport trends, otherwise the Ls will pile up.
