Luke not having a set half court offense is going to spell his doom.
Bad enough to just go iso, but Luke can’t even get his team to iso properly. They’re supposed to be on one side of the floor, but they’re all over the place, they don’t give LeBron enough space to even iso properly. Defense collapse so easily in the paint. _________________ Tacos

These close games are great to see what Luke can do at the end of the games with his play calling. It’s bad. |

Not sure why you’d admit that you let the player dictate who shoots. I agree that Kuz was probably the best choice, but sheesh... |

Is it too much to ask for an in-game adjustment that took advantage of this?

If Atlanta is giving you whatever mismatch you want, go after Young and get LeBron in the post. None of these step back 3s against Spellman.

And then know what to do when the double comes, because it WILL come.

Mentioned this on another thread but their spacing on isolations are so bad, they really don’t load up on one side. The paint is so congested LeBron doesn’t have a lot of room to drive. _________________ |

Luke doesn't want to admit that he writes out all the names of the players on pieces of paper and draws them out of Jim Buss's old baseball cap for his lineups and any other player decisions. |

Despite having no semblance of a system, we have talent on this team. Guys usually figure things out and build a nice lead. However, it all goes to hell when Luke starts to set lineups out of a rabbit hat. Then there's that little thing called momentum, which tilts entirely in favor of the opposition. |

if I was the coach and I saw Kuz walk to the line to take it I would let him shoot it too. |

I don't think this an accurate explanation. Kuz cannot walk up to the line with confidence unless he was already chosen to shoot the free throw. You can't say you chose someone to do something because of something that happened after. |

The games tend to slow down in crunch time and particularly in the playoffs.
We need a plan in the half court. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

I know we won, but damn that game encapsulates everything wrong with Luke. We get by on sheer talent alone, unfortunately we won’tt see what we could do with a competent coach until Luke gets fired. |

Cranjis is devoting a lot of tweets to Luke's coaching these days.

This is embarrassing. I was going into today hoping for some progress in offensive scheme, defensive fundamentals, and rotations.
0/3 so far today. LA should still win, but when will we see consistent progress in any of these areas?

Here's been here two years and he has no half court offense? What was that vomit of an offense the last 4 minutes -- pure last second ISO BS |

Maybe the plan comes in when Luke is certain of his personnel?
I don't know. Its safe to say the unpredictable rotations make planning difficult.
Also, it still seems like players aren't completely aware of their roles.
Im not expecting organization any time soon.
This is not squarely on Luke but also on the players. If they were more consistent planning might be easier. |

I thought we found something in the 4 guard + center lineup for the bench. Seemed to work great against Sac and Portland. But looked bad tonight and against Dallas and meh the other games. Feels like it needs a Beasley or healthy Mo to get it to stabilize. |

I am not someone who is jumping on the coach easily and will not do it now but few things after these 13 games I have to say about Luke and what he need to improve fast.
1. - Combination of players on the court is really bad. He is using some players completely wrong. For example Ingram and Lonzo. IMO they have to start but also be first to leave the game in 1st Q. After that they should be there with 2nd unit for their ball handling skills.
2. - Our half court offense is non existing at the moment. It is great when we run but if we dont score we do not have any movement at all. Its disaster. We need to have some sets there to run, you cant just give the ball to LBJ.
3. - He has problems with calling time outs. Always late and hesitant. Need to change this quickly. I blame this to his assistants also, especially BShaw as someone who is the most experienced there. You have to call TO when you see problems even if its after 2 min in the game. Look Pop.
4. - I know he likes to play fast but its is time to slow it down a little bit. Turnovers are coming because players are rushing with everything. There is no need , if there is no real chance , to rush things. You have LBJ take it slowly. |
