Disappointed? I know you understand but, this team is filled with unproven talent the FO has decided to play in order to develop them but bottom line we are tanking. And there is no way you tank by winning. By the way, the Suns just shut down Bledsoe for the same reason; we all want our pick (if we keep or deal it). _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

I've said it before, but you play D-Leaguers like Nwaba, Ennis, Brewer major minutes and you're messing with fire. Add in benching Russell, which (along with the blatant tanking) seems to have sapped his competitive drive... meh. |

I understand that the roster construct is terrible and we're throwing young talent to the fire... But the team hasn't improved from last year, as a unit. There's been individual progress but they're starting to play worse than last season.
I kinda knew the defense would be bad, but I had higher expectations for the offense. And it keeps getting worse, and it looks like garbage now.
And the personnel decisions he's making right now are bizarre and damaging. _________________ Austin Reaves

Only issue is this current Russell benching. Also I heard he told someone to "man up". I don't want to hear that Byron crap anymore. |

There are way more issues happening than Russell getting benched _________________ Austin Reaves

Didn't Luke play for Byron with the Cavs? That's probably where he got that phrase from. |

That is a blatant lie...Trudell got the audio (he is down near ground level) and Walton actually said "Who is going to fight out of this foxhole with me"" but the side show going on during the timeout on the court was so loud he could not be sure who heard him. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

BLOB means baseline out of bounds, btw. Those and sideline out of bounds plays are probably the purest form of seeing what's inside a coach's brain. |

Agreed. It's always fun to watch well coached teams like the Celtics and Rockets ATO (after time out) plays.
Outside of JC for most of the year (and of course MozDeng), Luke has been the most disappointing part of our team this year IMO. _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Russell was playing great; he shouldn't have been benched. I hope it wasn't because he got orders from management to tank. |

After all the conspiracy theories tossed around, Luke basically said pre game he benched Russell to see how he would handle some adversity and wants to see him really aggressive tonight

Stupidest thing a coach could do. You send mixed messages to DLo and the entire team. Luke went from a C to a D from this move on my grading scale. Can you name another coach who has done that to a player? |

Talk about some B.S. If that doesn't drive a player away, I don't know what would. Fake adversity. _________________ "Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships."

I've been complaining about our BLOB plays since preseason in here. We have turned it over often, and when we don't, it is often a near turnover. Don't get it. |

Walton - he needs an explanation, standing up for Russell "crap to me" given what Monroe did to escalate, plus he slapped Ingram

Walton upset because an assistant pushed Ingram - very strong words - don't touch my damn players

Walton said if league doesn't address this, he'll have his staff ready for the next skirmish - coach not holding back

Luke Walton on Russell, Ingram, Nance & Zubac standing up for Young: "I love it. That’s what they’re supposed to do."
Mike Trudell @LakersReporter 3m3 minutes ago
A very fired up Luke Walton said he would have been mad if Russell hadn’t pushed Monroe after Monroe shoved Young. |

love Luke going to bat for our guys here. I said it in the game thread too-- no reason for the Bucks coach to be touching our guys. Grab your own team. Everyone who's ever played or watched organized sports knows you dont grab the other team during a fight unless you're ready to fight. |
