Late 3rd quarter through the 4th had some of the ugliest defensive breakdowns I’ve seen.
Nance was getting burned by Holmes, Ball was late on switches, KCP was on Simmons, Randle had 1-on-1 coverage vs Embiid, geez! So many things went terribly wrong but so relieved we actually pulled out the win. _________________

Best thing about tonight's win: I won't have to read about jc, kuzma, Julius not getting enough minutes. Julius actually got 30. JC and kuz got limited minutes |

Gotta hand it to Luke for fixing the TO problem tonight. Maybe they should do suicides for missed FTs now. |

And only 11 turnovers!
Yup. Punish them in practice and we see the fruit. |

Nah, Kuz needs to play defense. Can't play offense only like Lou and SwaggyP. _________________ Let's Go Lakers!!! |

Each unit had to do suicides after practice for every turnover. |

Aside from Randle, KCP, and Lonzo, everyone else didn’t really play much defense.
Even Luke’s boy Larry Jr. couldn’t stop Holmes from driving, cutting, or posting him up.
But everyone had a better night than Kuz. This was definitely his worst game as a pro. _________________ |

Luke stressed TOs and defense and the team listened.
Drtg of 102.9 last game after a brutal stretch of drtg over 109+ |

Kobe raves about Luke, so that in itself is enough of an endorsement for me. Countless players and executives in the league have also had positive things to say about Luke. He needs to grow because he is a pup just like our young players. I never liked him personally (especially when he sucked azz for us after he got paid as a player), but I think many are way to hard on him. |

The team just needs to win.
Notice how quiet this thread was last night? Not even a page worth of posts.
It's a beautiful thing. |

I keep saying Luke is doing a good job. He said he would focus on D in the short pre-season and has worked. Our effort on D is great this season, and we play in the brutal West.
Luke also said that he did not have much time to work on the offense in the pre-season and it shows. He wanted to get the D down first as the foundation and work on the O as the season moves along. I think this explains why our team does not look so great on offense yet. Well that and we don't have any shooters.
By next season with the D foundation built, he will pull out all of the offensive tricks and hopefully we will have some better shooters to boot.
I agree he has some strange line ups and I don't like having some of our best players coming off the bench, actually I hate that. But I think he has his reasons and I think they mainly revolve around giving consistent effort on the defensive end.
It is so hard to get a team of rookies and 20 year olds to compete against grown NBA players. I think Luke has done as good a job as any coach could in getting the most out of our baby squad. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

Luke has done a good of emphasizing defense to our guys these last 2 months. Being in the top 10 drtg is a nice accomplishment.
Now Luke should start getting our guys focused on offense as well to balance out our horrendously low ortg ranked in the bottom 28 that way we can actually start winning some games. _________________ |

Last 10 we are 23rd offensively, not much of an accomplishment but it's... better ! |

O should continue to improve over time as Luke has a chance to implement more of his offense. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

Seeing the lfr breakdown i think luke did a good job offensively. Defense needs some more coaching work but overall luke and his staff were impressive. Luke usually sucks when he succumbs to running the offense through brolo and kcp glad he resisted that and went ingram or ball instead |

Only 14 turnovers.
Thanks Luke for getting on them.
And no complaints for him keeping JC and Julius to end the game right fam?
Smells so much better when the team wins. |

Insert Randle into the starting lineup for Nance and I'll give Luke a pass for a couple of weeks. Or just give him 30+ MPG. Hope we trade Nance at the deadline so Luke wont have a choice but to play Kuzma and Randle more. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

Color me shocked Luke didn't try to force in Nance and Ball for no reason in the fourth. |
