Yup. It already cost us 2 games against Spurs and @Wolves

To be honest, I know y'all are griping on him But they all looked better this game. Easier points, more passing, better defense. And they have twice looked better with 2+ says rest. That's definitely coaching them up.

The wolves are a bad team who break down defensively a lot. Needing to ride Lebron for 39 minutes, with 16+ consecutive minutes to end the game to beat the Wolves, who are not just a bad team but a terrible road team, is not good or sustainable.
this happened against Denver as well, they played better against them too. I wouldn't call Denver a bad team. They seem like a team that needs more time to gel to me. Offense had multiple lobs, easy passes for easy score this game. That's not just cause of Tyson

32 assists

And the LeBron for long 3s was LeBron decision, looked to me like they were trying to run something. Were moving and setting a play up but LeBron wanted an iso

At 111-104 when the game was seemingly over, Derek Rose drills a three to make it 111-107. With a chance to step on your opponents throat, an experienced coach like Popovich would have called a time-out to curse them out and to make sure we get the next bucket. Luke didn't call a time out, we didn't score, Rose drills another three to make it 111-110.

I would have liked it if Luke called a time out at 111-107, and show some passion. Especially with all the noise regarding his job, and how we've been losing games this way. We got lucky man, probably lose this game without Tyson.

The interesting part is that when Rondo is in the game, the team's assist rate per minute actually drops and Lebron's assist rate significantly drops.

Rondo and Lebron basically played the final 17 minutes together and in that time, the team only had 8 assists. Lebron had just 1 assist in those final 17 minutes.

Did his potential assists fall? He can't help it if Kuzma misses after a perfect pass.

Just saw a quote saying Rondo was huge in being vocal and letting chandler know where to be during the game

as We saw, this was huge and probably why he was in at the end.

We are lucky to have rondo honestly

That is the difference between all time great coach like Pop and young inexperienced coach like Luke. We have to deal with it during this season. I was screaming at that moment like crazy in front of my TV to call time out. Was really pissed off. But it is what it is. You need to have years and years of coaching for these kind of staff. He will learn but it is a question where it will be.

When do we discuss the current starting 5 not working.

They clearly aren’t right now. The numbers are incredibly ugly, and if you take out the Dallas game they’re horrific.

I think now its the time for him to stick with this starting five and finally give the players their roles. I think it is not really important if these starting 5 is good or not.
They have to become familiar with the plays and rotations and also to figure out how to play with certain players. Like Lebron with BI, Rondo with Hart, Rondo and Tyson, Ball and McGee etc. And at the end finish the games with your best 5 that night.
IMO rotations are not such a big deal. Just stick with one and let the rotations develop in time.

Real Concerns - I was at the game

Rondo & LBJ for 17 straight minutes

Kuz in on the final DEFENSIVE possession

Zo nailed to the bench for no reason in the 2nd half

BI making repeated mistakes and not being taken out

Kuz blowing assignments on defense repeatedly that led to 2nd and 3rd chance points and not being taken out

11 games in (17 counting PS) and we have no discernible half court offense and no game plan on defense (although the 2nd half was the best half of defense we've played this year thanks mostly to Chandler being aggressive on his double teams and doing an excellent job of walling off penetration attempts...that was huge and obviously not coached because Javale didn't do the exact same thing in his minutes)

No TO after DRose hit the 1st 3 up 7

Icing the kids when they were getting it going in the 3rd

Hart playing some point and also being inserted to guard a 4...this made no sense when you have Bron, Zo, Rondo, and BI with 2 years of training.

--------------------------------------------

Personally my starters would be Zo, Hart, BI, Bron, Javale

Kuz and Rondo would spell Zo and Bron

TC would spell Javale

And then it would be between KCP, Svi, Lance to see who gets the remaining minutes in guard heavy lineups in the 2nd and some of the 3rd.

But I would not consider Rondo and Bron at the same time on the floor because it takes the ball out of Bron's hands WAY too much.

Luke's attempted so many different lineups that we have next to no chemistry and no offensive sets either...they tried a Rondo/Bron corner exchange 3 times in the 4th and each time it was garbage...but when Bron had Javale on the PnR it was automatic dunks each time...

This job may be too big for Luke

---------------------------------------------

Oh and last note...during the final TO to set up the D and leave Kuz in for some insane reason...Javale walked away from the huddle and sat down on the bench by himself...that's not good.

^Proof why Ingram/Ball should never be a starting defensive backcourt in the NBA. Look at the top 6 lineups in minutes played. Lonzo and BI cannot guard a team's lead ballhandler(s).

Fixing these bad combinations will solve most of our problems.

This can still be a 50-win team.

I think another yelling and cursing session is in order. We need as many as possible until Luke corrects all his mistakes.

Agreed They can't keep changing lineups. They have won 3 out of the last 4 games with it. Bi looks awkward at the 2 but he's actually a better perimeter defender than Hart.

I like Luke let Ball and Ingram orchestra the offense, with Ball focus more on full court and Ingram on half court. Ingram looks a lot more active now. He could establish from now. Hope Ball could put more pressure on the opposite PG.

I would like Luke to start runny some plays for LeBron a bit, preparing for the playoffs.

Luke creating "culture" while Rick Pitino actually coached the team as Lead Assistant could take this group places.

BI does his iso thing and holds onto the ball too long at times.
And Zo looks disengaged out there. Not sure if he has health or personal issues going on, but he looks zoned out majority of the time.

Luke needs to find someone like Kerr did whos a defensive specialist, a legit defensive minded heach coach. Right now, Keefe is in charge and its not looking pretty.

Their giving players 3-4 feet of space to opperate. Switching on players all game instead of going iso at times.

Over-aggressively playing their man after getting blown by or after a pick and bumping into them on shots.

Very disorganized and out of wack.
