I really hope Casey Owens gets a place on Luke's bench.

I know how Luke got the gig ...

Mitch: How will you improve this team?

Luke: I will tell Kevin Durant I will make him into a 6'10" Steph Curry

Mitch: You're hired

Jim: Anyone want a frappacino?

Please no. I want a good staff. It's vital for Luke.

DFish would be a massive disappointment.

DFish got screwed by PJax. He's a standup dude and a solid leader. I'd bring him in. Just as long as we get someone who'll specialize on the D.

Billy Hunter still haven't removed the big knife in his back. The various teams that released him so he can be close to his daughters pretty much didn't have anything nice to say about him after. The entire Knicks' roster have their wives on 24/7 watch.

Basically, base on the stuff I read about his role in the players union, how he got out of his contracts on bad teams, how he asked for family time off only to fly to LA and be with Barnes wife, etc. One can argue he's not a stand up dude. The word sneaky comes to mind. I was a big fan of Fish being a coach after his playing days, but not anymore.

Totally agree. Fisher was great as a role player, but everything we've learned about him since has proven he's extremely self-serving. That's the last thing we need around such a young team and young new coach.

Has anyone else noticed that the AccessSportsnet guys (not ex-players, but the hosts and sportswriters, etc) have been visibly relieved since BScott's termination?

That would be a mistake. Based on what we've learned about Fisher, there could be some undermining and sabotaging.. and boom, Luke loses his job.. and Fish takes over as interim. I can just picture that. We want a united front with no drama. We don't want Matt Barnes staking out our practices either. So no to Fish.

I read the Kings are interested in them for their HC position.

The balance of power in the NBA Western Conference has just shifted from Golden State to the Lakers. The real reason behind their success is not Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, or Klay Thompson. It is not their owners, the logo, their depth, or Steve Kerr. The main reason they won a championship and went 73-9 is because the real mastermind on that team is Luke Walton. In 2 years the Warriors will go back to the cellar where they belong and the Lakers will have more championships then the Celtics. Book it!

Dang you guys got a good coach now. Tho luke doesnt know how to play #tankcommander cuz hes used to being a winner so hopefully that fits ur style. With Luke at the helm and Russ and Carson you can prob sneak into the playoffs next year and maybe get swept by the #dubs in round 1... Good for experience tho

Especially Johnny Carson, I think Luke turns him into an all star.

Have you guys been searching Luke Walton interviews? I think only basketball junkies watch NBA lotteries and NBA drafts. My first draft was 88, David Rivers. Watching highlights of draft prospects just to see who we might take is part of being a junkie also. But I realized I've reached a new high today. I've been searching youtube for "Luke Walton post games." LOL! Never ever have I searched coaches' post game interviews. But I wanted to hear more of what Walton sounds like. Is he clear? Is he articulate? Does he exude confidence? And I like what I'm hearing/seeing so far.

Not my first choice. But just like draft prospects, you be a supportive fan and hop on board once the decision is made. Go Luke!

Kind of the opposite of you.

My choice was Messina but I am OK with Luke. I do not like coaches without any HC experience but with Luke is different. He won chips already as an assistant and as a player. I like him as a coach and person and hope he will mix good with our young core. I just hope he will bring some good assistants, thats really important in my opinion. I would like to see Fish as his assistant, why not. Fish was heart and soul of Lakers in past 10 years.

Cause it has nothing to do with his coaching ability.
