Mitch was the first person I thought of when it showed Michael. |

Because the NBA is very difficult to play in, plus he was done after his injury. |
The NBA is very tough to coach in, plus Byron was done after he shaved his mustache. |

Well then you must be a complete idiot when it comes to actually applying those smarts. |

17-65. Keep shooting your mouth off, Byron. I hope you get fired as a result. |

All i know is his teams are usually in the bottom 5 of the league year in and year out.
He might know alot about basketball, but its not translating to his teams. |

It is especially tough to do when you have a terribly assembled roster. |

Forget John Wooden. How about Brad Stevens, Terry Stotts, Michael Malone, Quin Snyder or Mike Budenholzer? We'd be looking at at least 30 wins with those coaches. |

Replying to the original quote, aren't these two different ideas we're mixing here?
First idea: Byron Scott had and probably still has more basketball skills than most people alive.
Second idea: Byron Scott has more basketball coaching knowledge than most people alive.
First idea is undoubtedly true. Second is doubtful, and most certainly untrue when comparing him to other potential coaching candidates. |

Says he's smarter than everyone, but calls a timeout in the 3rd quarter with 0.7 seconds left, thinking he can advance the ball.
Your average LGer knows you can't advance the ball in those situations.
So no, he's not smarter than most people. He couldn't outcoach a 5th grader and that's fact. |

Worst thing about Byron is his stubbornness. Second worst is his lack of ability to make on-the-fly adjustments, he is a coach that has to review the film(see Mike Brown).
There are guys in high school and college who could handle the Xs and Os better than B, for sure. But commanding the respect of the locker room when some of the rookies make more than you takes an amount of requisite respect players only have for a fellow basketball lifer. Generally that is a former player or lifetime coach whose career ended early. Occasionally a video guy, but it takes a made man like Riles to stand by him, and his relationship w/ Wade helped. |

It would be 35 with D'antoni. |

I'm honestly astounded to hear a professional coach speak like this.
Typically you hear things like, "I know it's tough for the fans... Rebuilds are always difficult... I know it's hard to be patient when you're so passionate but we've seen some real progress..."
It's really not that hard if you aren't galactically insecure. |

If there ever was a place to put a post in a hall of fame or vault, this would be a perfect candidate !! Fredo and Byron trying to convince the world that he is smart !! Perfect video!

He's not a head coach. He's a former player who can talk the talk.
Only problem is all the ideologies that make him who is is, is totally outdated and unappealing today.
His words are nails on a scratch board.
Only people dumber than Byron are those who are giving him a job and now letting him keep it. |

Is that how he responds to the fans? Then, it is not a smart answer at all. Fans support the team, and they have every right to speak out their opinions and frustrations.
If Byron is smart, then PROVE IT. Start by winning something to backup the talk or...smartness. |
