Can't run, can't jump, he would basically be useless out there.

Clippers will probably be blown up next season. If given another chance with the same roster they may some noise but still not win a ship. Many pundits are saying CP3 will ask out. If he does Griffith may also.

A Kyrie for Cp3 trade makes a lot of sense. cp3 has two peak years left... Kyrie should have 5 or more. They both are injury prone so I don't think Kyrie's injury history would hold up the trade.

I don't think Kyrie is a better fit with the Clippers schematically, though. Blake and Deandre really need to be set up..

The Clippers are nearing the end of the line. After all these years of not getting past the 2nd round with CP3 and Blake, and especially after winning lots of games when Blake was injured this year, they will have to make some tough decisions really soon. Trading CP3 for Kyrie does make sense, but I'm not sure if Cleveland would agree, and if not, the Clippers are basically F'd.

It takes more than a couple years to erase 30+ years of bad karma that resulted from racism and incompetence. When things seem to start going well and you think you've gotten your act together, that's when it catches up with you. That org and its fans are getting what they deserve lol.

Wouldn't be surprised if CP3 and Blake are available during the off season. That combo hasn't succeeded and even when they were relatively healthy they couldn't make it past the 2nd round. Might as well get some value out of them while they are still worth something.

A friend of mine, a clipper fan, just texted me a few days ago telling me that the clipper curse was over. I copied and pasted that in a text message last night and he is not a happy camper right now.

Need to keep the team together. Injuries caused this years problems not chemistry or bonehead plays. If GS wins it all or Spurs win it all, they will have a good percentage of winning it all next year. Spurs never repeat and winning 3 in a row is impossible. Especially with how rigorous the regular season and playoff runs are and GS will have gone throw 2 straight years of it.

With that, If they do think they need a change, one trade would put them in a scary position in the league. Trading Blake Griffin to New York for Melo. Melo might have 2 or 3 prime years left while Griffin has 5-7, but Melo is the exact player the Clippers need to balance everything on this team. I would explore that trade if I'm Doc in the off season.

Melo's out of his prime already. he just averaged about 8ppg less than when he was in his prime, no longer looked like an elite scorer even by the eye test. That would be a bad trade

There isn't a comparison.

The Clips have never won a thing.

The Cubs actually have, even if it has been ancient times.

Bye.

Bummer for CP3 and Blake, I hate seeing players injured in the playoffs. Or any time for that matter.

Jesus, I'd expect a millennial to make such a bad comparison, but not someone who had already fought 1 American war by the time the Cubs won their last title.

That's the analogy Skip Bayless used as well

You should check out this great video on ESPN View http://video.espn.com.au/videos/skip-calls-the-clippers-the-cubs-of-the-nba

You gotta forgive jodeke. He can't even remember 2006 when the Lakers blew up a 3-1 lead in the playoffs. So expecting him to recall that unlike the Clippers, the Cubs have actually won a championship is asking way too much, even if he was of age at the time.

No they aren't.

The Cubs are actually popular and they are a Chicago institution.

The Clippers are the mfing JV team.

Agree with institution.

The Cubs are infinitely more popular than the Clippers. The Cubs have a huge following in Chicago - way more than the Clips do in LA. AND the Cubs have fans all over the country as well. I bet there aren't more than a thousand Clippers fans outside of LA.

Are you sure they're more popular? Look at the Clippers game before tip off of the playoffs. It's practically standing room only.

I wasn't making it a popularity contest Clippers vs Cubs. My point was the Clippers are popular. They were 10th in attendance in a league of 30 teams. LINK

After game 2, my supervisor (fair weather Laker fan), "So the Clippers are doing well?"

After CP3 breaks hand, I ask how the Clips are doing, "I don't know".
