the coaching hire may not work out in the end, but i think they'll be making the right choice (or one of the right choices). |

Kobe retiring is huge for all decisions going forward. Especially coaching.

I have my reservations with Luke. But I don't think it's possible he'll end up being a terrible hire (if we hire him).
But if someone tells me a couple years from now, one of the coaches signed this offseason (like Thibs, Brooks, whoever SAC hires) outperforms Luke. I won't be shocked.

Mike D'Antoni was a good hire, just bad timing. I'd give the front office a pass for hiring him. They were hesitant to hire Byron Scott, I'm very confident they will hire the right coach for a young core this time around.

| There are things outside of their control, like the pool of good coaches available. This year is the most ripe to get a good coach. I felt they should have hired Rick Adelman over Mike Brown, and maybe Phil or MDA (but you knew even if Phil came back, he wouldn't have lasted long). |
