Well I should have clarified. Kobe had great measurables to be a star, but Michael Jordan, TMac, Lebron, I would even say Vince Carter... all had certain areas of their athleticism or build that was just superior to Kobe's. Yet Kobe topped 3 of those 4 why? Heart. Give Kobe TMac's body, Lebron's body, Michael's body, etc. He's even better. |
Yea that's a good way to put it for sure. (Not a fan of Sabonis though) |
Well that's the thing. All of those guys had elite wings had great measurables AND athleticism.
NBA centers compensate athleticism with measureables.
Though I do wonder where KIROE got the #s. I've never been able to find them. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

The Lakers could have had Cousins last year. The Kings wanted #2 pick, Randle, and Clarkson. I don't see that changing. Not many good options to trade for if we get the 3rd pick. Better off keeping it and draft the player with the most potential which is Bender. |

This. I think he will be able to play both PF and C in a couple years. Kid is going to be good. _________________ “This goes far beyond paychecks” |

I don't even think you can trade the 2020 Lakers 1st. If the Lakers lose their pick in 2017, the Magic get 2019. So it'd have to be 2021.
Cousins is not worth that much anyways. Kevin Love was less of a cancer and got closer to the playoffs (40-42 with win differential of a 48 win team iirc), and all he got was a #1 plus some filler like Bennett. I'm sure that's what the Kings want but don't pay him that much. |

Seeing what George Hill is doing to Lowry makes me want Dunn.
Dunn is wayyyy longer than Hill too. Same wingspan but Dunn should have 5" on him in standing reach (contesting shots). Dunn doesn't have a new standing reach measurement for his improved height measurement on DX, math says his reach should be 8'7, that makes him longer than J.Butler and Klay.
This dude is going to be a crazy defender of 2-3 positions, he often blocks PGs jumpshots. He's unheralded but he is indeed a game-changing player. |

If we get #3 and cannot move it for a quality veteran player, I would love to use it on Dunn. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Well, had a team acquired Cousins last summer, they would have been getting 3 years of him. Now it's down to 2 years, so why should they expect to get the same assets? If they wanted the #2/Randle/Clarkson last year, this year a fair offer would be something like...just the pick (especially if it's top 2). Or the pick and Clarkson, if he'd agree. Point is, they can't expect as much value now, because it's not like Cousins' play reached another level this past season. Yes, he had many monster games, but overall, his level didn't go up a notch.
Tox is right about the Love comparison. Love was thought of as a top 10-15 player in the league at the time that he got traded, and Minnesota got the top pick (Wiggins) plus filler for him. Cousins is probably thought of as a top 10-15 player in the league right now, so it's comparable, although I concede that Love only had 1 year left on his deal at the time. Simmons is probably a better prospect than Wiggins, and Ingram would be close, so I believe a top 2 pick and filler is an appropriate offer--perhaps Randle at absolute most--but not the pick plus Russell. That's if we even wanted to go that route. |
