For the 3rd pick? No way... I can see us just signing him and GS letting him go.

But Luke wants shooters and players who can passing and run

I do see us pursuing Barnes

Russell is the perfect point guard, he's pretty similar to curry in the way he plays, not super fast, both can score, pass, etc.

Maybe bring Hibbert back and play the Bogut role, Randle play the Green role, go get Barnes. I'd like Hield as the Thompson shooter and then Russell. Lou can play the Barbosa role. Maybe trade for a guy like Michael Kidd Gilcrist as the Iggy Role. The hornets will want Batum and Lin back, I think Gilly can be had. Maybe a 3way deal involving Clarkson out and Gilly in with the Hirnets getting a pick. I like Bass to be back, I think he fits ok but we will need a big who can stretch and shoot, so Ryan Anderson would be nice.

I'd go,
Trade pick 3 (if we land there) and Young to the Wolves for Dieng, Shabzz, pick 5, and future 1st since we don't have one next year. I can see them wanting Bender and wanting to jump the Celtics and Suns to get him. I'd sell the pick very high, Dieng and Shbazz are RFA next year, Bazz is good as gone so he's just a throw in, Dieng is the real value coming back and a protected top 15-20 pick.

Sign Harrison Barnes and Ryan Anderson

And since we have 10-15m in cap depending, maybe we can keep Clarkson and work a 3 way deal like this on draft day

Lakers get: Michael Kidd-Gilcrist, Gorgui Dieng, and Buddy Hield
Hornets get: Twolves future protected 1st and Shabazz Muhameed
Wolves get: Dragan Bender, Nick Young or Lou Williams , LA future 2nd, and CHA future 2nd

Draft Ulis at 32

Russell - Clarkson- Ulis
Hield - lou
Barnes - MKG - Brown
Randle - Anderson
Dieng - Bass - Black

Something like this fits the system

Well yeah obviously Durant hahah. I think every coach will want him. But aside a guy like Durant. I honestly think he likes Barnes and is going to go after him plus we've really been missing a SF since Artest, yes Artest not Metta.

1. Barnes
2. A stretch forward
3. Rim protector who is able to pass and set screens. We will really need guys who sets screens. An underrated trait the Warriors have is the set screening guys like Bogut, Green, Ezeli, Speights, and Vareajo do.

I'd love to pursue Dieng. Cheap 1yr, he's a rim protector, can actually score some, he's very athletic. I like his potential in the future with our young guys.

I like the team I assembled on a more realistic non superstar stacking team. Barnes, MKG, Dieng, Anderson, Hield would be great guys in this system, yeah it's a lot of change but I think this team works with what Luke is going yo try and do. Hield would be absolutely perfect. Russell and Hield is awesome duo, Hield is great at running around screens, he's a lesser Rip Hamilton but ceiling may be higher if he can improve defensively. I have the biggest man crush on Hield, dude can light it up and is clutch af

That's a interesting roster, a combination of skill/defense and versatile players.

We obviously need shooters and someone to protect the rim. I think we need playmaking in the second unit as well, since Russell and Randle (needs to be more unselfish) can fit the bill in the starting unit.

Funny, I was posting about this in the FA thread...

I'm thinking Harrison Barnes will be a key target if the Lakers don't get Durant. Give him the full max around $20M

I would also go after the following Warriors to help w/the new offense and defensive schemes

- Speights for $5-7M
- Brandon Rush for $2-3M
- Barbosa for $2-3M

I'd target other shooters like Teletovic, Ryan Anderson, and Courtney Lee

Versatile and mobile bigs like Biyombo and Deng

I'd look at getting guys with a good motor and then a mobile rim protector.

I actually would like two former Lakers back again. Bazemore and Lin. With Baze sometime playing SF.

Batum would also be a good get.

Then of course we try for Whiteside or maybe swing something for Angry Birds Davis.

I could see him going after a guy like Montejunas, Myers Leonard, or Jon Leuer. A big man who can shoot basically.

Based on the Warriors, he would stay away from Derozan and max Batum.
