Festus Ezeli is probably attainable.

Not really. He's RFA so you gotta really overpay to get him - thinking $10M+. Lakers won't be the only team interested.

The guys I have in mind are all free agents.
- Speights
- Brandon Rush
- Leandro Barbosa

The biggest wild card is RFA Harrison Barnes - I think Luke will make the call on going after him.

Some of those guys (especially if the Warriors win it again this year) may resign with the Warriors and go for a 3 peat. With the cap going up, most of them will still get increases.

^ that's probably a great thing. Kerr is like our first assistant coach.
Randle had one of his very best passing games against the Warriors fwiw

Kerr has way better players than the Lakers do right now, I doubt he's worried...

Luke Walton needs Al Horford and Trevor Ariza to get this done, or Nic Batum instead of Trevor.

Best case

Horford
Randle/Nance
Batum
Russell
Clarkson

Option B

Noah/Nance
Randle
Ariza (salary dump for Houston to make a play for KD)
Russell
Clarkson

Need better passers and shooters.

Principle skills of Triangle and GST offense are very similar. Pass, unselfish play, off the ball movement, shooting. Why did we draft late 1st or 2nd round players like Cook (could shoot 3's and stretch the floor), Walton (great passer), Rush (shooting potential that never came to fruit) or Sasha (Shooting potential). Difference is that GST relies heavily on early 3 ball offense and not to force post entry.

Bogut has one of the best post bases in the game, and is a great passer. He's Vlade like only with defensive ability. We've got to get that big guy, we've got to hope that Randle develops into a shooter and better passer, and that we get some major shooting upgrades over the summer.

Ariza's not the player he was. His defense is downright awful.

Horford, Batum, and Simmons/Ingram will do the trick.

Umm, keep in mind this was Kerr's answer to the idiotic question of whether his coaching staff talks about Steph's injury status. It was a sarcastic answer.

I think Speights would be a better option than Noah. I'm pretty sure Luke would mention his name. Batiks injury history scares me from wanting him at 18 mill plus. A cheaper option is Rush to play the role of Barnes. Evan Turner can play the role of Iggy. Luke mentioned Randle being able to play some center

And if you want to run a modern version of the triangle, you run a modern version of the triangle. You tweak it. Just like if you wanted to run a more post oriented version of the Triangle, you would simply do that. The Triangle can take many forms. It's a flexible offense, inherently like raw clay. In fact it's flexible enough to allow implementation of components from other systems, as any good framework has the ability to do. If you're a coder, you know what I'm talking about.

They honestly want to see Luke success and don't see the Lakers as a threat for years so it makes some sense. lol

Unless they make some major trades or moves in free agency, Lakers probably won't be making the playoffs for another 2-3 years

And if you're a basketball x and o guy, you know that you don't really know what you're talking about. There are some good basic tri sets (because they are not exclusive to the tri), but the entire motion and spacing of the tri would have to be so reworked that you're just ending up with a completely different offense with a few tri sets.

Yeah, I heard the interview with Kerr today, and said that being an NBA coach is like being part of fraternity, and that means helping eachother out when guys are starting.

If Luke is really wanting to run to Golden State offense I can see him asking the Lakers to sign Sasha since he is a dead-eye shooter much like Curry
