Kerr was asked if the coaching staff talks about Steph's status. "We mostly talk about the Lakers, actually."
Kerr: "How Luke wants to use Clarkson and Randle and what offense he's going to run. We're really trying to help him out."
Is he being sarcastic? Can't tell.
Pretty cool if he's actually helping Luke (and the Lakers).
Sarcastic answer to a dumb question. Of course the staff talks about Steph's status. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

I like all our young guys, but I get the feeling we might not see all of them on next year's Lakers roster. Shoot, we might not even see this year's top draft pick on next year's team. It looks as though Mitch Kupchak and Jim Buss feel like their job is on the line, so immediacy to win may take precedence over patience to continue the rebuild with youth. _________________ “Love is the force that ignites the spirit and binds teams together.” - Phil Jackson

I doubt it, at least when it comes to Mitch. The man is unflappable. He's like the NBA equivalent of Tom Hagen from The Godfather films - smart, loyal, and unwavering.
When it comes to running the team, he's more Buss-like than some of Buss' other kids.

Already appreciates more about the players than Byron ever did.

I think just the opposite. This Luke move wasn't a win now move its a rebuild move. _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins

I'm pretty sure one of Luke's duties is scouting opponents.
Most likely he was assigned the Lakers.
yup. He said he was always pulling for the lakers when he had to scout us
The quote I read had nothing to do with scouting and everything to do with him being a fan. But maybe I'm wrong maybe he did scout us. _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins

Every assistant coach has to scout several teams. If Luke is already watching as a fan, it is perfectly logical to conclude he is also scouting.
Unless, of course, Kerr believed there was a conflict of interest.
Now, there are 28 other assistants who were paid to scout the Lakers. The FO would be smart to back-channel and see if any of those assistants are interested in a change in scenery.
Maybe as a backup but he's not a starter. He's an offensive minded big, not a good defender.
He's not a bad defender he just ain't a shot blocker
He's on a veteran team as well which makes him look like a good defender. With the Lakers he'll be playing with a young roster.
If that's the case then Clarkson most def shouldn't be starting on this team.
JC had to defend the best PG's most of the time. Everyone struggled defensively it wasn't just one player. Then I guess no one should start. Clarkson is still young and can improve. Speights is who he is as a player. His best days are behind him. If were going for a C on the Warriors it should be Ezeli.
