Phil Jackson is a great coach, but is he worth paying $30,000,000 for?

Kobe Bryant

Phil has been playing Kobe all 3 quarters lately, and he barely calls a timeout, so he has no choice to put Kobe out for 5-10 minutes in the fourth quarter, and when Kobe is out everything goes wrong, he should atleast take out Kobe 5 minutes before the 1st is over, and 5 minutes before halftime. We have made plenty comebacks and have had plenty close games in the fourth quarter, but we lose those games because of Phil putting out Kobe Bryant at the wrong time, for example, today against Dallas we were down 20, then we went up 2, then Phil took out Kobe Bryant for 5 minutes, which made us go down by 15 points. If he had put out Kobe near the end of the 1st, and 2nd (when he was in we were still trailing) then we would have been up plenty now because the Lakers were on fire entering the 4th.

Sasha Vujacic

Why does Phil Jackson like this guy so much? Once in awhile Sasha would bring some defense, but 99% of the time all he does is cry about his own turnovers and wide open jumpshots. Sasha isn't even good enough for the D-Leauge. Many say it is because he is too nervous, but that is the stupidest excuse in the world. He belongs in the D-League, maybe that can make him a little better. He is averaging 4 points, 1 steal, 1 turnover, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds in 20 minutes of play. That is not so bad, but he is just a waste of minutes! Instead of him, Phil Jackson should give more minutes to Devean George, and Smush Parker.

Andrew Bynum

Andrew Bynum gets more than enough minutes under Phil Jackson. Good work by Phil for giving the rookie Bynum a chance. As most of us know, Phil doesn't like to play rookies, but Bynum has shown in crunch time that he can be dominant. Major props to Phil Jackson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and the rest of the staff for giving Andrew Bynum a chance, and giving him a lot of training.

Very questionable lineups throughout the game.

As OdomX2 pointed out..

This is becoming more and more apparent.

i thought phil jackson was in the running for coach of the year at the end of december. the lakers played very hard that month night in and night out, they played solid defense, and they moved the ball well. i really don't know what the hell happened to this team because the grit they showed earlier this year is gone.

Phil isn't the one giving up 100+ points a game. That is all on the players, and until they take defense seriously, they will continue to lose.

No, "ouch" is making the above remark while sporting POS bust JD Drew as your avatar.

That's because in December most of the players thought they were going to be dealt for Artest... Now that Artest is on the Queens, they feel like they have job security... LOL.... jkidding...
