I'm serious let him start over Brown. The kid's shot is hella tight. And is money from anywhere at any time. I don't see why we don't give him more minutes.

If Brian were tougher underneath Jax would sit Brown so fast that the speed would take us back in time...

He's good only when he's hot. When he's not, he could be a defensive liability.

Nah he's always a defensive liability. He's hot 1 in how many games? His defense or lack thereof hurts us more than his offense helps.

You're right. I guess what I mean is it only make since to play him when he's hot because that's the only way he can balance out his defensive liabilities.

He's a 12th man sniper nothing more. He's 6'10 and probably has about a 1 ft vertical. He'd never get any playing time with teams that are serious about defense and rebounding (aka good teams).

I think that if Phil would give Cook more consistent minutes, then we would start to see improvements from him. Afterall he was the 2002-2003 Big Ten Player of The Year @ Illinois in his senior year. Give him more playing time.

id say that he is a defensive liability... but.... this team only plays D sometimes so its not much of a loss on the other end.

? He hot in almost all of them. He has an occasional bad shooting game, but with most open shots he is money.

If you talk about defensive liability, Cook is like Bill Russell and Hakeem compared to Luke Walton, but Phil insist on putting him out on the floor. At least with Cook the defense has to respect his shot, whereas with Luke, the opposing team doesn't come within 15 feet of him and begs him to shoot.

Cook is a fundamental shooter. Has all the skills to make a shot anytime. There isn't a time when it's off. He's pure big man shooter, it's just many of his shots actually rim in and out. Also, after say 3 missed shots, people want him out immediately. Well, if he misses the first 3, he'll probably hit the next 5 of 7. Defensively he's a liability, but right now someone else has to step up and hit the outside shots. And George, Odom, Walton, and Vujacic aren't doing that.

Cookie always tries to compete even when his shot isnt going in. I can't say the same for Kwame, Lamar, or Smush. Cook's a keeper.

Cook is matter/anti-matter, hot/cold. He will fall back to earth very, very quickly (as in the next game), and the trade-cook threads can resume on schedule.

Cook has ONE good game and there's a thread that he should be getting more minutes. Don't ya remember that he was 1-for-8 from the field against the Bobcats (Feb 3), 3-for-9 against Detroit (Jan 29)?

Not to say that Cook is not a good player. But problem is, that he is a streaky shooter. And I don't remember him as a defensive force. His perimeter defense against 3pt shooting bigs is ok, but he gets bumped around in the paint...

Cook is just a role player. Nothing more or less.

I don't think anyone is saying that Cook is all that, the sad truth is he's the best we've got at the PF position right now. Kwame is a bust, LO is better at the 3, Turiaf we don't know yet.

We gave him the ball in bad situations, if you saw the game you would know... and he has barely had any playing time to get into the game's rhythm. At least he has made shots unlike other players...

Cook certainly deserves more than the 15 mpg or so that he has been getting this year. The Triangle works well when the offense can spread the court and Cook does this well with his deadly outside shot.

1 in 10 games cook is on fire...or could potentially be
1 in 10 games cook is a defensive liability...no excuses

yes id start him over kwame.

yes i think he should play more.

if turiaf becomes a monster defender, it could erase cooks poor d, and we could have a balanced frontcourt: cook (offense), and ronny (defense)
