Assuming KD is off the table, and Horford stays in ATL

Which player do you give the max 2?

I'm from compton and i appreciate derozan, but i personally dont want him as "the guy" for the lakers. Would gladly take him as the second option, or as the guy that is going to land us a huge name.. but i feel like his price tag will be extremely high.

Also, harrison barnes, in my eyes, has been sort of a flop. He was touted to be future all star in the league and hasnt lived up to those expectations.

Thompson on 710 has been raving about getting Barnes.

DD. That way you actually have a 20ppg scorer that can pair up with another 20ppg scorer.

I would go with whichever player was actually attainable.

Derozan. I like Barnes a lot, but DeMar is a lot more attainable.

Can nobody honestly envision the (bleep) fest here at LG when we're putting our faith in DD to win us games only to realize we maxed out a bum? Is it any wonder why he is "attainable" for the same amount of money as KD, but KD apparently isn't? I don't want the Lakers to max out or overpay a guy just because we can. It's not a smart decision, it's a panicky lack of options. I'm not looking forward to this.

I think you should maybe take this summer off, because a lot of players not nearly as good as Derozan will be getting $15-20 mil contracts.

I'll sit through it, but sadly you're right. Again, I'm not looking forward to it.

maxing out a low % shot jacker who wont get you any closer to winning championship is a move that a third rate team would do.
I rather have Barnes since he is a proven contributor to a championship team but I dont see him being more than a #3 option which doesnt warrant max

Barnes... easy

Looks like 2 of the 3 votes for DD are because he is attainable. Shouldn't we vote for who we would rather have?

How do we know Barnes isn't as realistic of an option... we don't

He's younger but Barnes has been horrible in the playoffs too. He is benched most 4th quarters.

Man, I don't know about this one. They are both having a crappy post season

Even though he's the hometown guy,. DD's stock has got to be plummeting. He disappears worse than Lebron vs the Mavs in 2011. He also missed some clutch free throws. But I know his thumb is all messed up and he's pretty much instant offense in the regular season. Not a great 3 point shooter though.

As for Barnes, he hasn't done much this season and the previous season in the playoffs. He did hit the game tying, so that was something. Luke knows how good Barnes really is though, so if he wants him, then I say we should pursue him.

Barnes does fill a need at 3 though, where as if Clarkson improves a little bit, he can be comparable to DD offensively.

Just my opinion though.

Harrison Barnes because it will allow someone to help Walton to help our team to learn the system. Same kind of move Phil would do, pull in a guy who is a team player that knows the system.

Signing Derozan reeks of NY signing Amare because they missed out on bigger FAs. Its pure desperation.

Neither of these guys are max players, I would take DeMar over Barnes, but neither of them for max money.
