Yes, that was not a good look for Lebron. He has had his success. He should have been gracious, then gone out and won the championship as an answer. Now, if Cleveland does win, he still will have looked a bit classless. If they don't win, he will look like he was taken to the woodshed. |

The "Chosen" One has been dethroned.
Won a championship against the Cavs last year and are favorites to repeat.
Won league MVP 2 years in a row.
Is the #1 selling jersey in the NBA right now.
Has revitalized the upstart brand Under Armour and made it his brand basically.
So yes, the jealousy is definitely there.
Don't forget that LBJ thought he could basically run the NBA and free agency thru his associates. The Steph Curry era came and now there are other options....
Don't forget Akron was also the birthplace of Steph Curry......and now its known for something else other than LBJ and the home of Goodyear tires.... |

By and large, I'd agree with the points you've made. For as much flak as he takes, I want to see Lebron embrace the hate (self-inflicted ftmp) and turn into a more nastier player. I can't root for the Cavs after what Gilbert did to us, but if Lebron manages to pull off the ultimate goal this season (with a healthy squad) I think he'll manage to stem some of the Curryfest that's going on. _________________ Character

The Curryfest is well deserved, not like the Lebronfest that we have been forced to hear for years , thanks to the weak EC , the help of the referees and the corrupted media. Curry didn't need the help of the refs to dominate (see his low FTA). |

Both of them are ironically in that club of "we've never seen this before." We've never seen nothing like James and he's surpassed the hype with the numbers he's put up. I think that's why Steph is getting so much love and Lebron lovers and Cavs fans are hating this kid. We've had many good to great players who were small but we've never seen a person that efficient while launching from damn near anywhere on the court while having crazy ball handling skills to get separation.
We've seen Zeke, Pistol Pete, Nash, Tim Hardaway and Iverson do certain things individually but it's like all of them had a love session and out came Curry.
It's just really remarkable and just can't be explained. And it's fun to watch. |

Lebron has never been a classy guy. A classy guy would never have thought to do The Decision.
In fact, I'd say that his whole marketing personna is the opposite of being classy. He's marketing the "I'm great and can do no wrong, so quit bothering me because I have a billion dollars to finish making." He's kind of Trump-like, without the xenophobia and racisim.
Ultimately, he'll either win more rings or he won't. People who like or dislike the guy will spin the successes or failures to their point of view. But in the long run, all that matters is winning, and the spin will fade away.
I'm not sure the NBA needs a rivalry. The league has become such a juggernaut it doesn't seem to need anything at this point. But if GS and the Cavs keep meeting up in the finals, Lebron vs. Curry will become natural rivalry. And they're kind of a good one because, like Bird and Magic, they are such different personalities. |

That's kind of the prototypical Lebron quote. The self-importance, the apathy of what others think, the inability to resist commenting on any question. That's one reason so many people like and dislike him -- he really does speak to the me-first-whatever-I-think/do-is-cool-because-I-am-thinking/doing-it times he was born into. |

Man, that's a coincidence. Not quite like Magic being born in French Lick, but pretty close. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

I think that's silly. Are they supposed to stop playing in the three quarter? If the Hawks can't defend them, that's on the Hawks. |

By trying to be so definitive LeBron came across as not willing to acknowledge Curry. I'm not sure he meant to slight him. Then again?....... _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
