Then you're really going to hate when people start hating on whatever player we get because they're not instantly an MVP candidate.

Simmons/Ingram, Russell, Randle, & Nance will probably make less combined than Festus Ezeli will make next year.

this means that if we get Max(s) this year and another max next yr, let's say Randle turns out to be a superstar, 2018 we can max him over the cap right? (same with Russ the next yr)?

Yes. We will have Bird Rights on all of these guys if we hold onto them. Another reason why it's best if we spend this summer.

And unlike other teams the Lakers aren't afraid of going over the Cap.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to Golden State, because eventually their core is going to wanna get paid.

stub hub just paid $15 mil per season for a patch on the worst team in the league. Lakers, GSW only need like 2 or 3 patches and they'll help pay the lux tax

The Lakers already have TWC blood money anyways

we don't have to share this TWC money right? not like lux tax

it's like missing out on lebron or wiggins. there's legitimate reason to get upset AT THIS MATERIAL TIME

although ... sometimes the gap isn't as big as you think (wiggins against randle etc)

I don't even care if we have a losing record next season. I just want to see progress. I want to see our young guys learning how to play alongside each other. This last regular season was excruciating.

No it's not. Simmons can't decide where he goes. It's not like 20 years ago when Kobe forced his way to LA because he could've left New Orleans after four years. Now players become restricted after four years without an extension.

You have a better chance of being struck by lighting. Durant's not coming, but Whiteside is realistic.

If Simmons really wanted to be a Laker he'll find a way. Let me see here .... Simmons and Ingram both fill needs for the 76ers.

76ers are trying to turn the corner and build a good young nucleus. As 76ers management do you really want a player to not even take your call and conduct a workout for you be your #1 overall pick?

What's the NBA going to do? They can't do anything about it. Players stop working out or call off workouts all the time if they get a guarantee.

Simmons as an insurance policy can workout for Boston and Phoenix in the event the Lakers have a change of heart. BTW ... Boston is a way better market for him than Philly ever will be.

A team with multiple picks like Boston or Phoenix will likely take a shot on him... my guess.

VLF i kind of feel like you're tripping that we won't get Ingram..

I am happy with either. Either one adds potentially significant talent to the squad. Both have their weaknesses but that is what player development is for.

Kobe was no where close to being the #1 pick.
