Another possibility for a vet presence could be Iggy. Hard to se GS letting him go, but if they're gonna chase Durant they might have to. |

Are 1 of the few vets who can influence the youth and help them while at the same time help the Lakers win games.
those guys are more realistic then the pipe trade scenarios I see everyday. |
for short term contracts (2yr) and the right price, Pau and Parsons would be a great signing |
We're not at the stage where anyone is going to sacrifice money to play for us. And with the huge cap increase, there's going to be a lot of money available. So I am not expecting any cheapie signings -- if vets are willing to sign for cheap, they'll be going to contenders, which we won't be for a while unless we make some smash free agent signings like Durant.
More likely, we might overpay for short term deals if we don't land any great free agents ourselves, similar to what we did with Jordan Hill a couple of years ago. |

Haha. We are capable of replicating my first off-season with my 2k16 MyGM team. yay!
Drafting Ingram (I won the lottery though)
Dealing Young and Williams for future picks.
Signing Whiteside, Courtney Lee, Jared Dudley, Delly and Miles Plumlee
Resigning Clarkson
Signing Ibeh when he got cut.
Russell / Delly
Lee / Clarkson
Ingram / Dudley
Randle / Nance
Whiteside / Plumlee

I just hope they hire MWP as an Asst. Maybe the 3rd asst on the bench just to teach his defensive skills. He's a likeable guy and knows defense better than most. |

As for acquiring players......
C:Whiteside/Black
PF:Randle/Nance
SF: Batum/ Simmons or Ingram/Anthony Brown
SG: Derozan/Clarkson/Williams
PG: Russell/Huertas
Somewhere along the line we trade Lou or Clarkson for some value. |

We should go after a couple of superstars/all stars.
Misfiring on the big names, Pau, Noah, Deng and Ariza are all good presences to have around our young core.
I'd like to keep Bass and Huertas if a better PG isn't available. |

I really hope we target Ariza. Not sure why Houston would let him go but nevertheless. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

We need to dump perennial losers in Nick and Lou. |
Nick I agree with. He just has to go at any cost. Even if he's still on the roster, don't let him suit up and come to games to turn our locker room into an improv.
I have no problems with Lou. I'm not going to blame him for the way BS used him in constant iso's all season. He seems like a cool cat that was just playing the hand he was dealt. I'd like to see him stick around. Unless of course Mitch can flip him to improve our roster. |

Bass was a gem last season, he prob gonna get overpaid. How high should we be willing to get Bass?
other ex-lakers role players:
Jordan Hill would be a good big back up
Matt Barnes is another good back up
others:
David Lee prob too expensive
Leandro Barbosa if we can steal him from GSW (unless severely underpaid, prob won't leave a championship team)
I don't know how much these players would cost us, especially if we have a chance for superstars team up this summer (pipe dream, i know) |
Crazy Matt Barnes for young players? No thanks.
Jordan Hill, pass.
David Lee, pass.
Barbosa is good.
Harrison Barnes, Mike Conley, Horford, Whiteside, & Bass would be my picks.
Pau only wants to go to a contender IMO. |

If Houston hires MDA I could see them dealing for Swaggy P.
Swaggy + 32 for Ariza + 43 |

Looking at our roster assuming the Sixers take Simmons first overall.
PG: D'Angelo Russell / /
SG: Jordan Clarkson / Lou Williams /
SF: Brandon Ingram / / Anthony Brown
PF: Julius Randle / Larry Nance Jr.
C: / Tarik Black
Looking at the backcourt, it's apparent that the Lakers view Russell and Clarkson as their starting guards, and based on Mitch's recent interview is that they also view Lou Williams as a part of their future moving forward, likely as their 6th man. That being said, they still need some more depth at PG. I'd like to see a quick, speedier guard that can take on the quicker PG that Russell will struggle against. A guy like Mario Chalmers could make a lot of sense assuming he doesn't get too expensive. Or they could bring back Steve Blake.
At the forward positions, they're in need of a veteran presence to pair with Ingram. They're not going to invest heavily in the position if they take Ingram. Dudley makes some sense as a 3&D player to pair with Ingram. At PF, they need another body more than anything doesn't need to be anything special.
They need a starting center, preferably one that is mobile and has the ability to protect the rim. For that reason, Hassan Whiteside is probably my preferred FA target that isn't Kevin Durant. And they need some more depth behind. Someone mentioned Jon Leuer, and that's not a terrible idea. And a chance to re-sign Brandon Bass as well.
PG: Russell / Chalmers / Heurtas
SG: Clarkson / Williams / Draft Pick
SF: Ingram / Dudley / Brown
PF: Randle / Nance / Bass
C: Whiteside / Leuer / Black
Not a championship contender, but an entertaining team night in and night out. |
