Breaking: Knicks will hire Jeff Hornacek as head coach, per NBA source.

Good hire if he's allowed to run the team as he sees fit.

Wow. I'm assuming Rambis is his #1. Did not see this coming at all. Hope he does well. Good luck with that squad.

Why not Vogel? If he doesn't get a job would love to see him next to Luke.

My guess is Hornacek is more comfortable running the Triangle.

As for Vogel, my guess is he ends up in Orlando.

His playing days, was one of my favorite players from another team. Just loved watching him shoot that outside shot.

Good for him.

This is the answer to the question "Is there anyone more Horny than Kurt Rambis?"

The Knicks will reportedly hire Jeff Hornacek as their new head coach.
Hornacek was in the running for multiple vacant coaching jobs but he's expected to make his new home in New York, beating out fellow candidates Kurt Rambis, Frank Vogel and David Blatt. Hornacek compiled a 101-112 record in nearly three seasons as the Suns' head coach. He'll take over a team that missed the playoffs this year but should benefit from continuity, as four of their five starters have guaranteed contracts. There's no word yet about Hornacek's assistant coaches, but it's likely that his staff will run Phil Jackson's preferred triangle offense.

How will the team run a certain offense that the coach has no experience in?

Congrats to the Knicks for avoiding Kurt Rambis as head coach.

Jeff Hornacek isn't even required to run the triangle either, according to audio from JVG.

Phil probably decided that it was time to start looking at heading back to LA with Kurt. He has an opt out in 2017. By the end of next season, maybe Horny will have improved the team enough for a playoff berth or at least have them closer than in the past 2 years.

PJ will have pocketed 36 million from Dolan while saddling the Knicks with an aging vet making $26million/$27million in 2018 and 2019.

JVG's heard that Hornecek will not be required to run the triangle.

There may be hope for Phil if he's actually stepping outside the box and not just trying to force his system.

If reports are true and they're scrapping the Triangle that's obviously a step in the right direction, but it's also strange timing considering he just held a 2 day Triangle seminar with Knicks players. Maybe they spoke up?
