Just watched the interview, and Byron and Dan Patrick are laughing about how Luke's Warriors system isn't guna work here. Byron says "it's not gunna work. You better bring those players"

How does that make any sense? Getting wide open shots via screens and ball/player movement isn't going to work?

I really hope the team hits the ground running and racks up the wins so we can embarrass this fool Byron.

I'm getting tired of all the Kristaps hype. The kid has major upside, but he is far from a bonafide thing along with everyone in the 2015 Draft class not named Karl Towns. Funny how the media only focuses on the positives of him and the negatives of D. Russell.

Truthfully, it can be argued that Oakafor had a better rookie season. Porzingis is freakin' 7'3 and only shot 42%, which is only 1% point better than Russell who is a PG.

Is it going to result in the same amount of wins as GS? No (bleep) sherlock, but thats not the point right now. Lakers will probably get 25-30 wins but If Luke can bring the lakers into the 21st century basketball wise, i'd say he's accomplished more than Byron ever did.

That would mean Byron would have to take accountability for his outdated practices. You better believe he's going to take it as proof none of this was his fault when we don't win 60 games next season.

It just shows how poor/lazy his understanding is of GS's system and the way the game is played now. In his mind it's probably just playing fast, jacking up threes, and excessive pick and rolls (in a negative way). That's it. No grasp whatsoever of how it generates high percentage shots and easy points. But his critiques are humorous. He was the coach for two years and still no one has a clue of what his "system" was. Princeton and some triangle, maybe? I guess. Whatever it was, it sucked and he did absolutely nothing to make adjustments. Just sat back and watched while it continually produced droughts and low percentage shots. If he wasn't standing up in his Drill Sargent pose watching it fail he was sitting on the bench eating crackers with not a care in the world.

he had a hot string of about a month ala Linsanity and was made to be a legend already by NY and national media, he tailed off bad after that and couldnt even finish season, he has alot of potential but right not is alot of hype

Who cares what that idiot thinks? He's delusional in thinking he was done wrong somehow. The dude is so clueless he can't even acknowledge how incompatent he was. Will we win a championship next year? No, but we'll have a lot more crispness and flow to our offense unlike we had with Byron and be a lot more competitive. Dude is a tool. He's just mad he'll never get another coaching job.

Lol not true at all, I can't stand Scott but I get the impression he genuinely wants to see the Lakers do well. Even if he is not the man coaching the team, he still has their best interest at heart

Just when you think Scott was finished with this "(bleep) Russell" tour, he reemerges to give the media more clickbait articles. Dude has no clue that he's being used for ratings. Can't this guy just go away... like forever? He's just burning bridges at this point.

Meanwhile, Russell is staying quiet and doing 1:25 AM workouts in his home state. I can't wait for him to air the dirty laundry on Byron in a few seasons. He has the right to retaliate.

I like it. He's burning his laker bridge. With him bad mouthing the team, there's no way they gonna hire him back in any capacity, for me that's a good thing

I wonder what he means by "not gonna work". Does he mean we're not going to win 73 games? Ok, I can get on board with that.

Does he mean we're not going to win more than 17 games?

Byron might be the tough guy who gets right back up when he's knocked down in a fight. But he's clearly not smart enough, to just avoid the fight altogether.

It's not a coincidence that his initials are BS, right?

I think what Byron was trying to say is you need unique elite talent (Curry, Green and Klay) to make that system successfully work.

You need unique elite talent to make that system win 73 games.

The most important thing is whether or not its more effective than whatever the hell Byron was running. And that's a reality Byron is not allowing himself to confront by hiding behind the notion that Luke's system won't work to the same degree it does in Golden State.

I agree that Scott is a Laker at heart. He's just hurt right now. Despite the frustration of watching him as coach, he's family. He's had a rough couple years too.
