I think it's inevitable. I think we still need to find a pseudo-starter who will give us 20-25 minutes at center, like Noah, Ezeli, or Biyombo, and that will probably cost $15 - 18 million.

With or without Black returning, I still figure to see about 15 minutes a game with either Randle or Nance manning the 5. Who has the better skill-set for that?

Despite being athletic, neither seem they will develop into prolific shot-blockers. Nance seems to have the speed and awareness to provide the better "horizontal' defensive coverage and potentially a jump-shot to draw big men out of the paint. OTOH, I can't imagine more than a small handful of centers being able to handle Randle's skill-set and he's simply a monster on the boards.

Randle. He's not tall but neither was Chuck Hayes and he got away with playing center for years at 6'5". Randle has the strength to body up on centers. With a little practice on technique I think he could guard most of the centers in the league without giving up deep post position. On the other end though he would murder opposing centers in transition and off the dribble. Especially if the jumper comes around.

On a side note, if we draft Simmons he and Randle could wreak havoc as a PF/C tandem. No shot blocking but our transition game would be epic.

Now you see why there's a Dwight Howard thread.

Either/or. Just play them together at the 4/5, they're interchangeable.

It depends on the situation, IMO. Defensively, I think Randle projects to be a better post defender, while Nance is the better rim protector.

Can small ball work without players like Lebron or Curry?

I think Nance can space the floor potentially, so I voted Randle.

Nance because he's a better defender.

Strong opinions both ways which makes me optimistic that we'll one day see them playing alongside each other often.

Imagine how devastating our defense could be one day if we put out a line-up of DLO, Brown, Ingram, Randle, and Nance.

I don't like Nance at center at all. I think hes too small. Randle I think can handle it.

Nance can gain weight, don't think that's an issue. It's all about on ball defense versus help defense, verticle length and jumping, and active hands. Better point defense it's Larry hands down.

Bottom line though, it's all situational depending on foul count and opponent. Luke is smart enough to find the situational advantage.

Lack of shooting is pretty real here. I'd rather have clarkson in there too.

Randle. Nance would be your shot blocking 4. Or more to the point, they are fairly interchangeable.
