Where are all you who were even putting Steph in the same sentence as Kobe?
Stand up NOW.
This dude is nowhere near the legend that is Kobe Bean Bryant. I don't wanna hear crap about Steph being hurt. Yeah he is hurt. His feelings are hurt because Westbrook has made him his (bleep) in this series. Kobe played through pain like nobody else and never made excuses and he delivered for us time and time again.
I don't care what the dude's regular season numbers are. He's come smaller than mine me in this series. Kobe's playoff numbers were always better than the regular season when it mattered most. I'll never forget 2010 against Phoenix putting the team on his back and getting them back to the Finals against Boston. How about in that series putting up 38 to keep them in Game 5 and then making sure we came out and punched the Celtics in the mouth in Game 6 before closing it in 7. How about 2009? We were down against Houston and he dropped 40 on one of the league's best defenders. The next series hit that huge shot in Denver when the game and the season was on the balance with the series tied 1-1. In 2000 he spearheaded a comeback against Portland in Game 7 and when Shaq fouled out in Game 4 of the Finals at AGE 21 put us on his back.
Bottom line he's the most clutch and most dominant superstar of this era and it's an INSULT to put Steph in the same sentence as him. _________________ #CowboysNation

Kobe's ability to score huge numbers on an opponent AND take on their best perimeter player defensively is very underrated. People don't appreciate how hard that is.

Though I have no doubt that prime Kobe would be completely overmatching today's Russell Westbrook in intensity and ability.

I do know Kobe can manufacture points while being draped on by the defense. Also to Kobe's credit, he can play with "bone-on-bone" knees and a pinky pointing the wrong way.
Yes, Kobe has had some poor playoff games even in his prime but how many times did Kobe stink offensively AND get lit the (bleep) up defensively in the playoff? and on a championship level squad to add to that.

I agree to a extent but i think Kobe's defensive prowess is highly overrated. The ability was always there in his prime but to my memory I think he only put together 2-3 truly great defensive seasons, other than that it was too off and on. Plus he didnt have much competition to really challenge him at the SG spot back in his prime.

Complete and utter bull (bleep). The SG spot was better in Kobe's era than it is now.
Kobe has had his fare share of bad playoff performances, lets not act like he is perfect either.
Sure, but point being Steph hasn't earned the right to be elevated to Kobe's level.
Kobe did this thing for two (bleep) decades.
He was a dominant, dominant player for a decade and a half before that Achilles.
Kobe has never had 2 horrible games in a row in the playoffs when his team needed him most and having HC advantage on top of that _________________ "Bryant has been the second best player in the NBA for over a decade, but the number 1 player changes every other year. Vince Carter, McGrady, Allen, D-Wade, Joe Johnson, Reid all in their prime ...
Nowadays the best SG is a flopper, and 2nd best SG is a one trick pony on GSW,

If Steph can wreak havoc on the league for over a decade like Kobe did from 1999-2010, then I'll consider them similar. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."
