They've done it. Congrats to the Sparks for tying the Houston Comets' 20-1 start, best in league history. They have a chance to break the record Sunday afternoon vs Atlanta.
Sparks were trailing most of the game until the final minute. They took the lead for about 30 seconds before the Sun tied the game sending it to OT. Lavender and Toliver stepped up big today.
So I've never watched WNBA but tuned in to Game 1 out of curiosity. Man what a ballgame. These chicks can play. Might tune it for the rest of the Finals.

it's nice to know that banners are still going up in Staples while the Lakers get through this lull. Kings have helped with a couple, then Taylor Swift, what would Staples be without Taylor Swift's banner up there. And one more win and the Sparks add their 3rd.

Complete screwjob by refs with that non call on the Minnesota backcourt violation.
And then the foul call on a clean block by Parker. Nothing worse than refs screwing teams in the Finals. Nothing new though, happens every year in the NBA.

That foul call on the Parker directly after the blatant missed backcourt violation was brutal!!! Happens all the time & LA made mistakes too especially with the bad shot selection down the stretch. Hopefully they can pull off the upset in Minnesota.

I was quite annoyed with the officiating throughout the game. It seemed fairly obvious they wanted a Game 5. But the Sparks didn't help themselves suddenly rebounding and playing D like the rebuild Lakers . Annoying game. Anyway, on to Minnesota.

Agreed. Smh the officiatin made me feel as if I was watchin a NBA refed game but LA certainly deserves blaim. Didn't like how Candance didn't abuse Maya in the paint & take advantage of her height. Candance had NO business bein on the perimeter last night.

Lynx homer, but I think you could make argument for body on Parker's foul call. But, yes, the 8-second call was brutal. Lynx were doing everything they could to give that game away. What the hell was that "play" they ran after the timeout late in the game? Ugh. Sparks can definitely win Game 5 since both teams have won multiple times on other team's court. I do like Lynx having Maya though. I know LA has the MVP but I think Moore can reach a level no one else can in the WNBA and having that in a decisive game could prove, eh, decisive.
We've seen this before and it will be ensured
Lynx will blow them out at home in this final game.
I'd love to be wrong but all signs are pointing to that happening, LA will come out flat, Minni will come out hyped and with their home crowd spuring them on and they will open up a big lead the Sparks won't overcome.
If Candace could somehow will her team to what would essentially be a game 7 victory on the Lynx home court against Maya Moore she would seal her entire legacy.
I just don't see that happening. Their best chance to win the title was last night and it's gone.
Unbelievable game. Nneka's shot (both of them) will be the subject of discussion and praise for years.
Candace just made her legacy, going onto The Lynx home court and bringing home a title, her and Nneka did something amazing tonight, and Cancace's legacy in the WNBA is solidified with this victory tonight.
Candace: "This is for Pat"
Nothing more need be said.
3rd Championship for the Sparks, it's been a long time coming.

Does anyone have the footage of the last couple minutes? I followed the play by play on my phone walking back to the dorms, but it sounded like a crazy ass finish.

Worth watching. 71-63 deficit disappeared in about a minute. The shot that shouldn't have counted, Maya big shot and then the tough winner.

So watching postgame, on the missed shot clock violation Sparks actually got screwed first. They grabbed offensive board and shot clock should have reset but didn't. So the "late" shot, they should have actually had like 14 seconds still left. So refs first blew call on that. That makes it a little easier to take. Still think it's goofy they couldn't review it.
Just saw this
So sad to see Kobe Bryant be tagged as Laker Legend and not Lakers Superstar anymore _________________ I was an atheist, until I knew Kobe.
