For this draft alone? Sixers. Lakers take who is left...which is easy.
I took this poll as pressure for the future of each franchise going forward. _________________ Do you believe it now, Trinity? - Morpheous |

Same. Sixers have the best opportunity to draft a franchise player. The Lakers are just getting the remainder. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Would you guys blame Mitch if he went with the consensus and took either Simmons/Ingram and missed out on a better player later in the lottery? |

Not at all. Hindsight is 20/20. Lately we've drafted really well (Russell, Randle, Nance, Brown) so I trust whoever Mitch picks. |

I'm 100% positive that the streak will continue and another very good asset or two will be added to that list. |

Not really.
I believe someone like Dunn or Hield have a fair chance to become a better player in the long run, but for what I've seen there is no way you should pass on Simmons or Ingram at this point.

It's pretty simple - posters who read the OP's question correctly as it is written choose "Sixers."
Posters who ignore the wording of the question about nailing the draft and extend this to "who's under pressure to improve by any means necessary over the next couple years" choose "Lakers." Correct, but that's not what the OP's asking. |

We have zero pressure in this draft. End of story. Its all on the Sixers to make sure they get it right. |

If I'm the Lakers FO I'm eager to work with either Ingram or Simmons. So I'd say the Sixers have the bigger burden, given that they need to validate "The Process". |

Easy choice for Lakers. Just pick the one who the Sixers don't draft.
No so easy choice for 76ers. Ball is in their court. |

Pressure is deciding that someone other than Ingram or Simmons should be the second pick of the draft. If you go with that gut level decision and you're wrong, Lakers fans will have your head on a pike. |
As we have seen, some will turn on you if you are right. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I picked the Lakers, not because of the overwhelming pressure...just that it can't be much pressure to be the 76ers.
I'm waiting to hear they picked Thon Maker #1, and traded into Phoenix's 4th pick for Zhou Qi (who I wouldn't mind at #32). I mean there can't be that much pressure to be the worst team again.

While Mitch & the Lakers FO, as usual, are keeping everything under wraps; It appears that Philly is gearing up to make some moves prior to the draft.
Either way things are heating up heading into draft day and the pressure is mounting for both teams to make "a splash" going forward.
*Sixers likely to trade Jahlil Okafor or Nerlens Noel, report says:
Quote: | There has already been rampant speculation that the Sixers and Celtics could be picking up where trade talks leading up to February's deadline left off. Thursday, ESPN NBA insider Chad Ford added fuel to that fire.
Speaking to 97.3 ESPN in Atlantic City, Ford says he believes it is highly likely that either Okafor or Nerlens Noel get moved. Soon: |

Yes big time. If Ingram turns out to be next Marvin Williams and Hield becomes the next Ray Allen, I'll be furious that we gave in to the hype. |

Ray Allen was a tremendous player, and a future hall of famer. But let's remember, he was never sniffed a championship until his third and fourth team. Ray Allen is with elite company, but Kobe and Durant are NBA royalty. That's the potential Ingram has and that's why many people have him going at #1. The Lakers desperately need a Superstar, and that's why we rolled the dice with DLO and that is why we are going to pick Ingram if he's still there at #2.
Don't get me wrong, Buddy could possibly be the next Ray Allen, but we need the next MVP type player like a Kobe, Durant, or even Leonard. |

I respectfully disagree - we do have pressure - for the 32nd pick!
Seriously, the number 2 pick looks to be a ridiculously easy decision for the Lakers. |
