I was with a couple of buddies at the 3rd Street Promenade when I was like 14 and Vlade was there. My friend went up to him and asked him for an autograph and he blew my friend off. He was trying to keep a low profile I guess but I don't know what he was thinking. How many 7 footers are walking around?

So he tells my friend to scram and my friend is pissed. So he cups his hands around his mouth and yells at the top of his lungs, "HEY EVERYBODY! LOOK! IT'S VLADE DIVAC! AND HE'S A TOTAL D1CK!!!"

I bet Vlade wished he had just given him the autograph.

Or he was relieved at not rewarding a jerk with an autograph.

I've seen NBA players, in general, at 360 Health Club (formerly Mid Valley Athletic Club), in Reseda. Wilt used to go there, and I believe I saw him once or twice. My dad said he saw Samaki Walker there recently.

For a while I thought Slava Medvedenko was stalking me in Marina del Rey.

My friend is a prick, no doubt, but Vlade could have taken two seconds to hook a young fan up. And he was not relieved, he was horrified.

I saw AC Green at a Silo electronic store in Hollywood back in 1988-90 on Sunset and LaBrea.

I saw Dr. Jerry Buss a few years back, at Victoria Gardens, in Rancho Cucamonga, just sitting on a bench, waiting for someone to come out of a store.

I saw Magic Johnson, right after he announced he had the HIV virus at the West Angeles Church on Crenshaw.

I saw Kareem Abdul Jabbar in Pasadena on Orange and Colorado, said a casual hello.

I met Rick Fox at the Staple Center

I met Wilt Chamberlain at the Paseo Colorado Mall in Pasadena, before it was remodeled.

I met Lamar Odom, going in to Staple Center, he was a rookie Clipper at the time.

I met Mychael Thompson at Hooters in Pasadena, they were broadcasting.

Chris Mihm and Bynum many times while rehabbing my shoulder at Kerlan/Jobe. I actually broke the news here on LG about Bynum working out on a treadmill for the first time before it was in the news.

Saw Pau walking into a Sushi restaurant here on the Westside right before he left the Lakers. After putting the pieces together, I'm pretty sure he was going into a lunch meeting about signing with the Bulls.

Met Magic Johnson at a Raiders game at the Coliseum many years ago (plus I was sitting next to Willie Brown).

Wilt Chamberlain getting out of his car (a VW Bug) at UCLA when I was a kid.

Elden Campbell walking along the 3rd street Promenade.

Rick Fox stopped at a red light next to me, driving a Ford Ranger when he was doing those ads - and at a bunch of club swim meets. His daughter swims for a team that competes against my daughter's.

Mitch at a Dodgers game.

Used to fill Chicks car up all the time when I worked at a gas station as a teenager.

Shaq driving a convertible Bentley in Sherman Oaks when he was on the IR - we yelled for him to get better soon and he smiled nodded and gave a thumbs up.

I'm sure I'm forgetting others.

Had the chance to talk with Jim Cleamons for a few minutes a couple of weeks ago. Very humble, down-to-earth guy.

Met James Worthy at a Whole Foods in Sherman Oaks. We were waiting to check out. I asked him about Javaris Crittenton as at the time he was still on the Lakers. James told me he thought he had great potential but no brains. I guess he was right lol. He was very easy to talk to and very nice.

I saw Shaq at Downtown LA Mercedes some 10+ years ago.

I was just shocked that I saw him there and only words I could think of saying was "What's up Shaq". LOL.

One of the employees there told me he came to the dealer pretty often.

That's when you know you're filthy rich. Probably came in regularly for a new color or something crazy like that.

I met Jordan Farmar and Sasha Vujacic. They were playing for Efes and they played against my team in Croatia. It was really fun. I asked Sasha for photo and he asked me if I want from him to call Jordan also. It was pretty cool. I had 5-10 min chat with them. It was great day indeed.

I saw Phil Jackson at the Panda Express in Westlake Village just sitting in the middle of the restaurant eating by himself. Didn't say anything to him but found it funny.

I once saw Dennis Rodman at a club in Chicago...he was still a Bull then though. Still counts right, he did eventually come and play a few games for the Lakers, right?

I had a nice conversation with Gregg Popovich and Tracy Murray-when he was playing for the Lakers, while waiting for a table at the Pacific Dining Car. The Lakers had just lost to the Spurs, so I think they came from the game. I was coming from the Dorothy Chandler after seeing an opera. Talked a little about wine, nothing about basketball.

Jeese, I almost forgot an obvious one! In '86, I was the conductor of the High Desert Symphony Orchestra in Victorville. I hired Keith Erickson to narrate Peter and the Wolf with us. He was Chick's sidekick the time. I wanted Chick, but it was his wedding anniversary, and he declined. He suggested Keith. Super nice guy. We had breakfast at a local nice place, and Roy Rodgers and Dale Evans, local folk who lived about a half mile from me (and when they were out in their yard and I was walking the dog would always call us over to the fence and say hi to us. They loved dogs) saw us and came over to say hi to Keith. They were Laker and UCLA fans. A couple minutes into the conversation, they recognized me and Dale said, "Oh! The dog lady!" lol

Ran into Matt Barnes a few years back on Halloween night in Hollywood just after the lakers beat GS. No was alone waiting to get into a bar and I said "Hey Matt great game tonight, think I could get a picture?" He didn't even look at me and just shook his head no. Pretty crappy feeling at the time but pretty funny looking back

Saw Kobe at the Arc at UCI. He was putting his gear in the trunk of his SUV. I shouted "take care of your knees" and he flashed a peace sign.

In Hawaii... must've been in 2005 when they'd fly over for training camp. I saw Kareem crossing the street by himself with a bag of Taco Bell in hand. I yelled out to him, "Kareem, you're the greatest!" from my car window, but was ignored completely.

From what I read about Kareem that was a very pleasant experience you had!
