After last night's win over the Cavaliers, Klay Thompson said the Warriors were better than the showtime Lakers. Klay was no doubt joking and taking a jab at his father (Mychal Thompson) who played with the Showtime Lakers.
▪️In a playoff matchup, how many games do you think it would take the Showtime Lakers to beat these Warriors?

The Warriors would probably win in 5 or 6 simply because 3 > 2.

old rules? Not a chance. New rules? I still don't think so. How are they going to stop Kareem, Magic and Worthy in the paint? Scott and Cooper could rain threes too btw... they just didn't do it a lot because the rules weren't such that made it the best shot to take at the time.

Nope. They're a good team, but those Lakers had two of the best of all time.

He was giving his Dad a hard time, and messing around.

Honestly they might beat the showtime Lakers, though I think the Showtime Lakers would have enough D.

But I laughed when he said it. Obviously said in jest.

Were they ? They had trouble with the celtics. 15-1 2001 Lakers would be a better of all time team imo?

Anyone also get the fact he was completely joking because his Dad was probably in the same room and he wanted to make the media laugh?

Here's all the comparison you need OKC with 2 players took these guys to game 7 and had them down 3-1 with Adams (no offensive skills)/Kareem at center Roberson(no offensive skills)/Byron/Copper at SG. The Lakers played teams like Golden State back in the day as a matter of fact it was Golden State with Chris Mullens, Mitch Richmond, and Tim Hardaway nice series but LA baby.

I think under the current rules and officiating that these Warriors would probably beat the Showtime Lakers.

The 3 point shooting leaguewide is way beyond what it ever was then, the skill of the players in this era as far as shooting 3's is truly amazing.
