The man was joking, but I'm sure in hindsight he regrets saying it - because I'm sure that helped fuel the cavs _________________ How can I get a copy of a Laker game played on Sunday, March 11, 2001 Sonics/Lakers? If you know PM me please
I would be willing to pay you for it. |

And 2 of the 3 games left at home, Cavs' comeback > Warriors' comeback at WCF. |

Golden all time choke job by Golden State.
73 meaningless wins for nothing. Thanks for decimating my online gambling account also, should have known better...it isn't like they are the Lakers. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

No but they got swept twice 4-0 didn't they? :O
Actually yes... they got swept by the 76ers, the team they beat for the championship in their rematch.... and then were also swept by the Pistons the year after they beat them in the Finals AND going undefeated in the Playoffs till then...
I'm pretty sure that still stings.

I will say this, I am more impressed by Thompson than Curry as an all-around basketball player. If you take away Curry's shot, what else will he contribute on the court? |

I was rooting for the GSW until Klay made the better than "Showtime" comment. I know he was joking and just taking a shot at his dad, but it did show an unflattering level of arrogance and disrespect for the opponent that I was hoping would come back to bite them. Hubris comes before the fall. |

What a bandwagon! | lol As someone who lives in Nor Cal where all the Lakers fans somehow turned into GSW fans, its been great! No one saying (bleep) on facebook. The (bleep) talking was madness the last 2 years from GSW fans coming out from under the rock. I talked a little (bleep) and no one said (bleep), just the real laker fans laughing!
Then again, bandwagon fans always happen no matter what team it is. once they start winning a little, they just pop up everywhere. |

Thats true. On Sunday I saw a little kid in Santa Monica with a GSW cap on his head and Laker t-shirt on. His parents should be ashamed of themselves teaching him the ways of bandwagon fans everywhere. |

Does that matter? Those weren't the Showtime Lakers. James Worthy broke his leg before the 1983 playoffs and didn't even play in the Finals. In 1989 the entire starting backcourt missed almost the entire series against Detroit. When Magic and Scott were out it WASN'T Showtime. That's like having Curry and Thompson go out with injuries, get swept, and saying something like "See the Warriors are overrated!"
Also the Sixers were a 65 win team that was 12-1 in the playoffs and Detroit was a 63 win team that would repeat the next year and made the Finals 3 years in a row. The Cavs are one of the weaker championship teams and it's laughable to compare them to those teams.
I can't believe a Laker fan in a Laker forum would bring up 1989 with the injuries to the entire starting backcourt. |

Yeah, it's weird to bring up '89. Going up against the Bad Boys without a starter and then losing Magic a game and a half into it? Imagine the 90s Bulls trying to beat prime Bad Boys without MJ and another of their starters. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."
