This is an effortt to see what teams will need to do to spend $1 billion this summer in Free Agency. For those that are interested in ranting about the salaries being too high, this thread isn't for you.
There will be teams that won't spend enough to reach a $92 million Salary Cap, but some of that lack of spending should be offset by teams such as Golden State, Oklahoma City, Cleveland and perhaps a few others that will have team salaries above the Salary Cap.
There are roughly 150 players to project the salaries on, so I realize that there will be some significant misses to both the high side and to the low side. Just the nature of things when doing something like this.
If you feel that some players are projected too high or too low, point those situations out.
For the three Max Salary tiers, I went with:
$30 million
$25.9 million
$22 million
The league will set the definite numbers in July.
There will be perhaps 50 new players added to the league via:
* The 2016 draft
* Overseas players coming over such as Saric
* D-League players that impressed enough to get a regular NBA contract
To accommodate 50 new players, more veteran players will need to be dropped from the list below than what I have shown and the amount actually spent in Free Agency should come in a bit lower than what is shown below.
