Any other soccer fans out there watching? This is a pretty big tournament and it's being held in the US I'm surprised more people aren't talking about it.

Sure. I was just watching the heavyweight battle between Brazil and Haiti. Well, okay, maybe not a battle of heavyweights, but Haiti actually did score.

It's a weird tournament, with a lot of big names missing. I'd give Mexico decent odds of winning.

Mexico, for me, has been the Celtics of men's national soccer. Can't stand them.

Mainly because a lot of people born in the US don't follow soccer. One look at who's in attendance ought to show you that.

Yeah, Mexico has started to develop a certain attitude that they didn't have in the old days. The reason why I would rate Mexico as one of the favorites is that they seem to have a full squad (unlike the other favorites), they seem to be in-form, and they seem really motivated to win this particular tournament.

Watched the first US game where they lost. Then watched another game with Colombia as well.

They have fans that travel everywhere. People were saying the CONCAAF tournament was rigged in their favor last year with all the bad calls in their favor since if got eliminated most of the fans would've stopped showing up.

Argentina are tournament favorites with Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, and Colombia behind. I just got a feeling that Colombia will somehow win it.

Argentina and Mexico (because it's close to their home soil) are the favorites imo but Brazil looked strong today

UNIMAS is showing a lot of these games for those that don't have cable or satellite. Of course you have to put up with the Spanish commentary.

Must be playing cause that's the best part of these games is the Spanish commentary.

Bye.

Peru-Ecuador was one of the best international matches I've seen recently. It sets up a barn-burner finish in that group. Ecuador is likely to beat Haiti in the last game. This means that Peru pretty much needs to beat Brazil to move on, but if they do, Brazil is out.

Depends on how good the Brazil team really is. Brazil flattened Haiti, but drew with Ecuador.

This tournament seems like a pretty big deal to me because it's much tougher to win than the Gold Cup, and the only other major tournament the US team plays in is the World Cup these days. Missing out on the Confederations Cup and the Olympics again is really annoying.

Some would say that Mexico is playing at home. If you go by who gets the most fan support, they are the home team.

I thought El Tri showed a lot of grit last night. The absence of Guardado had a big effect on them, and they gave Jamaica some great chances. Still, they toughed out the win even when not playing their best.

Now we know how much Suarez means to Uruguay. In fairness, though, Venezuela played really well.
