Quote:
Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green is suspended for Monday night's Game 5 after he was assessed a flagrant foul 1 by the NBA for his actions in Game 4.

The play in question came with less than three minutes left in Golden State's 108-97, Game 4 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers when Green and LeBron James got tangled. James stepped over Green after the Warriors forward fell to the court, and Green swung his arm and appeared to make contact with James' groin area. James immediately turned around, and the two players went chest-to-chest as play continued.

lol.

I saw that play and it wasn't as bad. I think the nba based its decision to coddle lebron and the history of draymond Green's nut shot assault.

It's so blatantly obvious the NBA didn't want this to end in 5. That play was nothing.

dan gilbert prolly cried to the NBA and Lebron prolly cried as well... this is complete horse$hit.

imagine how this effects Vegas when people made bets on game 5 the night before and this news comes out the day after? can you change your bet when the game hasn't been played yet?

shouldn't be surprise. dislike cav/lebron as much as anyone, but honestly it's hard to argue w/ this line...

While Draymond Green's actions in Game 4 do not merit a suspension as a standalone act, the number of flagrant points he has earned triggers a suspension for Game 5.

still feel somewhat good about GSW winning game 5 though, extra motivation on their home floor.

Except that play didn't merit a flagrant 1. Draymond should have been suspended by now but not because of that play.

Draymond should have thanked his lucky stars he didn't get suspended for the Adams punch. He knew he was on thin ice. This one is on him.

Look, I know people hate Lebron and think Green's suspension is unfair, but you can't go punching and kicking people in the groin. Green has done it multiple times this season even before the Adams incident. He was already on thin ice.

You can blame the stupid refs for letting it get to this point. It was a poorly officiated game. The refs let guys get away with all kinds of foul. I hope someone knocks lebum down and walks over the crybaby head in game 5.

I think it was the right decision, although if GS was down 3-1 I doubt there would be a suspension. Because of his history I don't believe Green when he pretends these are all accidents. And if he is going to do this, he is less likely to get suspended when he does it to a guy like Adams. He should know that the league is less lenient when the stars get hurt. And people are watching Green more closely now.

And getting hit in the groin isn't exactly a painless experience.

Lebron knew what he was doing when he stepped over Draymond. Green fell for the okie-doke. I'm not surprised he was suspended. In fact, I expected it. I had a feeling long ago he'd not be able to hold it down.

What's gonna happen is, the Dubs are gonna come out smokin and blow the Cavs out. Look for Barbosa, Barnes, Mo Buckets and Iggy to step up. Curry and Thompson seem to have found their stride.

If Bogut has a good game the Cavs are in big doo-doo.

I look for the competitive nature of the team to forefront and end it tomorrow.

I thought this play was nothing on the part of Draymond, while the Dellavedova shot to the groin was far worse and way more blatant. I agree that Draymond has a history of doing these things, but this incident here was nothing.

Draymond Green would find a pair of nuts in the dark. It's kind of like how a bat uses echolocation to hone in on its prey.

Just shows that Silver is running the show same as Stern did. I F'ing hate this kind of crap.

If the Lakers screwed up and went down again for the next ten years, I would probably just bail on the league.

I agree with the sentiment that this offense was not worthy of a game suspension... But the Capone reference is on point. No flipping way they want Draymond Green's cracking nut show going on for the next decade worth of important playoff games he'll be in.

This is the equivalent of a shot across the bow. "Cease and desist"

The league should have had the guts when he nut kicked Steve Adams. They were spineless then. So now they have to overcorrect later.

That would suck for your team to win and you couldn't play in the clinching game

Quite possibly the FINALS MVP if he continued his great play in Game 5 too. Not sure now. Sucks for him, but he should have showed restraint even if Lebron goaded him into his action.

If Green had swipe Lebron anywhere but the groin. He would be playing tonight. It was the groin shot that did him in.

His play has been solid, but not great. He started off with two strong games but then had two weak games

Overall, he's averaging 15-9-6 on bad shooting (42% from field, 31% three point line).

Right now, Curry is probably the MVP by default. Really, it's the benchplayers who have done really well for GS, but none has done so well individually as to deserve MVP.
