While Draymond Green's actions in Game 4 do not merit a suspension as a standalone act, the number of flagrant points he has earned triggers a suspension for Game 5.

still feel somewhat good about GSW winning game 5 though, extra motivation on their home floor.

Except that play didn't merit a flagrant 1. Draymond should have been suspended by now but not because of that play.

It's so blatantly obvious the NBA didn't want this to end in 5. That play was nothing.

Green did himself in. First he made contact with James and then he swung at him from behind as he walked away. He could have made a better case it was inadvertent if he hadn't taken that swing. Hard to feel sorry for the guy considering this is a cumulative penalty based on his previous actions -- with one flagrant 1 on the books already, he should have controlled himself better.

Then check your emotions and don't put yourself ahead of your team. That is exactly what Green did, dude is a cheap shot artist and it caught up with him. I have no sympathy, he knew what was at stake and couldn't resist being a dumb ass. He knows that the next one will be even worse, but I doubt we see him stop cheap shotting people.

http://nba.nbcsports.com/2016/06/13/kiki-vandeweghes-wife-tweets-she-got-into-maritalargument-with-him-over-draymond-green-and-lebron-james-punishments/

Quote:

Kiki VanDeWeghe’s wife tweets she got into ‘#MaritalArgument’ with him over Draymond Green and LeBron James punishments

The NBA gave Draymond Green a flagrant foul (which triggered a one-game suspension) and LeBron James a technical foul for their roles in a Game 4 dispute.

More specifically, Kiki VanDeWeghe – the league’s executive vice president of basketball operations – gave Draymond Green a flagrant foul (which triggered a one-game suspension) and LeBron James a technical foul for their roles in a Game 4 dispute.

How did VanDeWeghe reach that decision? His wife, Peggy, provided some context on Twitter the day before the ruling was announced.

AJ Neuharth-Keusch of USA Today:

The tweet, which was later deleted, read:

“Just got in a #MaritalArgument over #NBAFinals re: @KingJames & @Money23Green altercation! @ramonashelburne @ESPNSteinLine What’s your take?”

On one hand, it’s beyond naïve to believe people don’t talk to their spouses about their work. Of spouses’ many roles, one is usually trusted advisor.

On the other hand, the NBA tabbed Kiki – not Peggy – to make these decisions. Presumably, Kiki reviews the rule book and precedent before making a judgment. Does Peggy?

We don’t know which side each took initially or how influenced Kiki was by his wife. But we at least know one other person – beyond the Warriors and Cavaliers – who had a strong opinion on the matter heard by VanDeWeghe before he made his decision.

Report: Draymond Green to watch Game 5 from suite of Oakland Athletics’ stadium

You know those people who go to baseball games and barely watch the game?

They mess around on their phones. They read books. If they’re lucky enough to be in a suite, they watch television.

Draymond Green – suspended for Game 5 of the NBA Finals – is going to be one of those people.

Green didn’t quite get his wish of attending the game, but the NBA was more than generous in interpreting the rule to allow him to arrive immediately after the game. He should be happy with the compromise.

If the Warriors win tonight, this should at least set up a cool moment of Green rushing through the tunnel and bursting into the arena.

DG didn't "swing" at James. It was more of a "get the (bleep) off of me" move.

Lebron is a snitch ass (bleep). Punk (bleep).

A "get the (bleep) off me move" will get you T-ed up too. If you're going to kick players, toss them to the ground, and otherwise are unable to control yourself, you're going to end up getting some suspensions -- and that's on you.

It didn't even look like he did anything warranting a flagrant foul on the play, i have no idea what the NBA was thinking on that call. Lebron stepped over him and Draymond got up and was upset about the call, seen nothing warranting a flagrant.

He hit Lebron in the groin on purpose. It's not like he hit him in the thigh or something like that. Like Steven Adams said, that guy is pretty accurate.

If the league really wanted to rig this they could have called it a flagrant 2 so Green could miss 2 games and increase the chances the series goes 7 games.

Also Green is a (bleep) idiot. He should know that people think he is a dirty player now and people are going to be far more skeptical of him when he keeps saying everything is an accident. And he was close to a suspension and he must have known that. Yet he decided it was worth it to try and take a cheap shot there again.

It's over now.

I expect Dray to show why he's the Warriors MVP in game 6 as they close it out.
