I'm sure no one here wants to have this conversation (although I did see some huge Lebron fans in the game thread), but we'll have to eventually. His all time ranking has risen much higher from this championship - As objective fans, we can appreciate this and give him the credit and respect he deserves, whether we like him or not. We're going to have to come to terms with it, and accept that he will, or has already, surpassed many of our players. Kobe, Shaq, Wilt, Kareem, Magic, etc.

I would put him ahead of Shaq and Wilt. I'm sure many would put him ahead of Magic and Kobe...I'm not sure about that yet. He definitely is nowhere near Kareem. Not sure what you guys think.

He's in the Top 10. Same as Kobe, Shaq, Magic, Kareem. This will always be a subjective question.

As years go by, and turn into decades of greats, the "inner circle" grows....

I think lebron is in that elite inner circle.....

Yeah, no doubt. The guy just seems to avoid major injuries year after year. Haven't seen any other player like that. I have my suspicions, but there is no proof of anything, plus the NBA has poor drug testing, so we'll never know.

Having this discussion is opening a can of worms but I will say I rank LeBron amongst the GOATs it's just too subjective to place them in a concrete order

By my count that's 6/11, so you're right it's 54.54%.

And this is what replaces the Curry thread.

Replaced one headache with another. An old, familiar one.

I'd still take Kobe because of his intangibles. He never ran away from the big moment and usually came through one way or another. For that reason I'd also take Larry Bird over Lebron.

The thing I hate is that the capitalistic mass media will hype up Lebron like never before. Get ready for more "Lebron is the greatest ever" talk from many talking heads on TV and writers on the internet.

Atleast with Curry you could laugh it off for so many reasons, this one is legit. Wait a couple of more years, this is going to be the one thing that will play over and over again in the NBA universe.

Whats funny OP is you thinking there are 'objective fans' on these forums.

The reality is Lebron is a threat to any of the Laker legends in terms of where they rank in terms of the all-time greats. It's funny seeing people here rank 3-5 when comparing them to ONLY other Laker greats. At MINIMUM he is a top 5 player OF ALL TIME. If you go over to other NBA forums you see people ranking him a top 5 player OF ALL TIME with this playoff series win.

Example

Whats funny is the OP said Lebron vs LAKER greats!

NOT players from OTHER teams!

Let's count championship rings:

Magic: 5
Kareem: 5
Kobe: 5
Cooper:
Worthy:
Byron:
Horry:
AC Green
Rambis:
Lebron: 3
