But do you want to fulfill your destiny as an all time great while helping to carry the league? Or do you want to play it safe?

He lyin'.

If he wants to go to a contender that means the spot light is already on that team and him being there is actually calling out more attention to him-Hey everybody look at me I'm KD, I'm with the Warriors we're gonna have a perfect regular season and choke in the Finals.

He is also damn sure ain't gonna play for less than his MAX.

If he really means what he said he will stay in OKC, take a pay cut so they can bring in more talent in the free agency.

I believe him. This is the guy who gave a million dollars of his own money into a Oklahoma tornado relief fund. I rarely hear people give that much money out their own pockets. I mean wealthy people sometimes do, but rarely do you hear an athlete or a movie actor do such a thing without some sort of fund raiser. Good for him.

Anyways. I hope we can land both him and Lebron. I don't care what the odds are!

"Spotlight" was a word that the writer used. We don't know if Durant actually used that word. In the quotes, Durant simply said his decision wouldn't be based on the size of the market teams were in, or what implications the market size might have for endorsement opportunities.

There wasn't any suggestion that Durant didn't care about the quality of his teammates or that he was willing to take less than a max salary.

Russ and KD are pals. They are a 1-2 punch and KD even called Mark Cuban an "idiot" for saying the Westbrook is not a superstar. I doubt they will leave each other.

Kevin Durant was mad at Stephen A. Smith once because he said that it was a "possibility" that he could go to our Lakers.

It's quite likely he will sign a 4-year $60 million contact. He's not leaving.

Why? So they could stick Kawhi at the 2, or Aldridge to the 5?

imo that wouldn't work out. Aldridge should not be their defensive anchor and Kawhi shouldn't have his iso advantages and handles at the 3 compromised by forcing him to the 2.

It's a true scenario that would have problems all around as it compromises Kawhi AND Aldridge at their most effective positions.

No matter how "positionless" the league has become, Kawhi should never be stuck as a primary 2 nor Aldridge as a primary 5.

At the end of the day Durant's primary concern is rings and nothing else.

Win rings, and get paid doing it, would be the ideals.

if Golden State says "We can land you while keeping Green, Curry and Thompson." he will sign on the dotted line that day.

Jeannie Buss to Lakers staff member: Erase the phrases "spotlight" and "money" from the PowerPoint presentation immediately. And cancel the spotlight and bags of money we were going to give him at the pitch meeting.

Move over Kia and Blake Griffin. KD's bringing back the Yugo!
