Please oh please keep Phil away from this organization. Their lineup next year is gonna be:
Derrick Rose
Some Guy
Carmelo Anthony
Kristaps Porzingis
Dwight Howard |

Bunch of old dudes on the decline with limited mobility. They are definitely going with the triangle. |

Welp no one has to worry about the Knicks for the next 10 years... Not that anyone's had to worry about them for the last 40 anyways, but still |

Sounds like they'll pitch Jordan Clarkson on being that "Some Guy". |

Does nothing to slow Cleveand in the East. Maybe a change will be good for Rose but those New Yorkers will eat his ass up. |

On the Bulls side, does this mean Noah and/or Pau are on their way out? Lopez just signed a huge contract last summer. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

^ well both Pau and Jo have sounded like they were not interested in continuing there. I was just about to say that apparently this Derrick Rose deal is confirmed so if Joakim leaves too, thus concludes my interest in the Chicago Bulls. |

Sincerely though, I wish Rose the best. It's always a shame to see young burgeoning stars (and teams) get cut down by injuries. Hope can be snatched away so fast in this game. |

Sounds like a serious gamble, but Rose played well after New Year's this season. He's young enough where maybe a change in scenery could change his fortunes.
I wonder if Phil will court Pau if he opts out of his contract. I'd like to see the Knicks become a good team. It would be good for the league, and I'd like to see Phil once again be associated with a winning team. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers |

League has it good enough already, I'm tired of Knickscentric overcoverage.
I don't have a problem with this trade though. Melo might have someone to trust giving the ball up to. Melo's assists numbers went up with Porzingis out there. I expect DRose's assists numbers to do the same since he doesn't play with the same scoring style.
Different level entirely but basically that's what Kobe wanted with his later years, a guy he could depend on to take some of the burden including in the clutch. really more about burden of making quality decisions than actually scoring big. Which is why he was probably big on Rondo, or Melo etc. |

Lebron went with Dwade. Derrick rose went with melo. Lebron went with Kyrie. But CP3 couldn't go with Kobe @NBA I hate you guys

Dude has a point
Although I don't care for D. Rose so at least he went to a team I hate.
Rather amusing that Jerian Grant is going to Chicago so he's kind of back home again and well Uncle Horace was a legend in those parts. |

The move to make would have been moving Melo and building aroung Porzingis. But we know that's not an option for Phil/NYK. And since it isn't, I don't think this is the worst gamble. Rose played decently in the second half of the year and Melo showed more of a willingness to pass and rebound. This is as Knick a move as it gets (as would signing Dwight) but the Knicks have been stuck in a cycle of seeking instant satisfaction with aging stars for a while now.
I do have to second those who say they're glad Phil isn't in charge of the Lakers, though. lol |

Wow that's a good deal for the Knicks.
Bulls fans are probably pissed. NY gets a starting PG that addresses their weaknesses in transition and slashing while maintaining flexibility for a max contract, and the Bulls get...Rolo?

Bulls are rebuilding. They were going nowhere and mired in mediocrity so might as well start the pain. |

Clarkson would have to sign the offer sheet...I don't think Phil's jedi mind tricks are that good. |
