BI is turning into a ball hog out there. Forces a lot more shots each possession.

I'm trying to give Ingram the benefit of the doubt because it's so early in both the season and his career, but he really frustrates me. It's not even all his fault, which is sad.

You simply can't play Ingram many minutes if you are trying to win games. He's the worst player on the team. Hurting the team on both sides of the ball.

He's too aggressive offensively.. He doesn't have to look as bad as he looks out there. He needs to stop forcing his looks. When he's forcing he doesn't look like he belongs in the NBA.

Unfortunately he's doing what he's been instructed to do.

Exactly. And why? Cuz the front office and coaching staff want him to do this (bleep).

Geese. Absolutely no patience from you all. If you are going to come here and complain about every play, its going to be a long season. It's not like everyone else on the team is killing it. Everyone is taking their lumps. Sorry, but that's what happens when you draft young players.

It's about how they're choosing to "develop" him. Obviously a young player will take his lumps. But encouraging dumb, black hole basketball isn't going to develop him into a better player.

And then there's his defense.

It's really not his fault.. But he doesn't look good. If they directed him to play within the flow, that's what he'd do, and he'd look just fine.

I can't complain about Brandon's shots this game. He's just not making all of them. There was one fade away I wasn't happy with. The rest were decent looks.

I would hope that we aren't fed a narrative that we just keep repeating indiscriminately and irrespective of the actual reality.

As for defense, that will come too. Remember, the guy doesn't have a lot of strength. That limits him both offensively and defensively. But, the other problem is coaching. Its hard to kill Ingram for poor D when the entire team sucks at D.

And the other side of the pendulum. Remember he’s just a baby! Inconsistenty is a hallmark of young players.

I don't want to harp on this because I have acknowledged how early it is for him, as well as the fact that it's not all his fault, but he's been pretty consistent so far this year.

I've been banned twice for being "too aggressive" in my defense of Ingram.. I'm the last one to dump on him..

He would be better served to just make a pass if a shot's not there, rather than trying to create one as often as he does. I don't think it's his fault though. He's been instructed to play that way.

Like Ingram a lot but remember the “I wouldn’t trade Ingram for Anthony Davis” discussions this summer?

So now we're going to revisit who we'd trade this guy or that guy for after they have a not so great performance?

I'd have traded Ingram for Lopez, LeVert and the 27th pick by this point.

If Paul George was being offered straight up for Ingram that may come back to haunt us.

Magic deciding to say "Nope, Ingram is untouchable, you can't have him for George." but saying "Our best young player from last year that fits perfectly next to Lonzo for a one year rental and a center Luke will have no clue how to utilize? You got it!"

While I don't necessarily disagree with this, Ingram is the only one of our young players who gets this excuse when it comes to defense. And it makes my eyes roll to the back of my head. If people talked about how we're clearly not playing good defense as a team, I'd be fine with it. But at the end of the day, guys need to perform. He performed against the Suns Friday, so he gets credit for that. But as a second year player, the kid gloves need to at least be slightly removed and all your deficiencies can't be dismissed as as being a baby. Ingram isn't the first one and done player ever drafted.

What the hell was going through his head to start the first half?

Can someone tell me if this was the same game he had vs. the Suns but he missed shots? Or was he just out of control bad like opening night?
