Kid's just following the front office and coaching staff's orders.

I'm kind of tired of him already this season. He's just not a very fun player, and he's still another two years away from being Gumby Rudy Gay.

It's almost like that's a more natural role at this point or something.

yep!

Traded for not being capable of being something that he's not, at this stage of his development?

he needs a different role, not a different team.

At this point just like DLO, I think he needs both.

And also just like DLO, it's way too early for the Lakers to think that.

Let’s get rid of all our lottery picks and watch them flourish elsewhere. Yeah!!!

I still believe in BI, but I really wish he would stop trying to be the next Kobe and pass the ball. His body clearly hasn't caught up with his skill-set yet, and if his shot isn't falling it's gonna be that much harder. Magic needs to have a sit down with the kid and scale back some of the expectations. If there's anybody that needs to assert himself in the offense more, it's Lonzo.

I blame Magic for his attitude so far. Its all on Magic. Magic need to shut up for few month and let them play. He is just making unnecessary pressure to the young guys who are not able to contain it.

He is not a good shooter off screens. His footwork and stance are a mess off screens.

Well he's not very good off the iso either. He's shooting a bunch of midrange shots. You rather him just ISO and pull-up? I rather it be off the screen so he can catch and shoot rather than him dribble so much. Or come off the screen and take a dribble or two and pull up. Just make things easier for him so he doesn't need to break down a defender one on one so much.

If he's gonna flourish off Lonzo he's gonna have to learn how to come off screens cause his ISO opportunities won't be many

I don't have the #s but I would guess he's not a proficient shooter off screens (nor is he one on ISOs).

The game looks so hard for him. It's sad to watch. Seems like his best approach is to remain as passive as possible to minimize his negative impact. He needs a consistent 3 point shot desperately.

Man, hope the Lakers don't get trigger happy like they did with another #2 pick. These kids take time!

Especially this one. Not sure how much you can learn about him long term just yet when he's just not ready

Seriously. Outside of a few rare exceptions, these guys need the time. Didn’t seem like that other #2 pick was given the chance to sink or swim. Actually he was, he did swim but we foolishly traded him without the 2 max guaranteed. I guess Ingram is next and then maybe even Lonzo.

These quick turnaround "sink or swim" evaluations are ridiculous. DLO is well on his way to a 20/5/5 level season. I'd suspect Ingram in year 3 would be more physically and mentally ready to contribute too. If the Lakers weren't eager to develop 19 year olds, why didn't they just trade the picks for established veterans?

well then he shouldn't start if he's not ready. We're not trying to give Boston a top pick because we're forcing the issue with Ingram. Bring him off the bench and start someone who's ready.

because they don't know what they are doing.

I still feel D'Angelo was traded for personal reasons that Magic had defending his buddy Byron. But that's another story all to its own.

Agreed. There's no reason why his development has to hurt the team. Kobe wasn't even a starter in his 2nd season.

I hate saying this over and over, but I think we are severely lacking in the player development department. We were blessed with Kobe, who was a guy who trained hard but trained smartly too.

I feel edicts like "7-8% bodyfat" are nice, but may be a symptom of training harder but not smarter. We are still lacking in many fundamental skills in our young players (shooting for Jules and Ingram for example).
