Why should he take shots he's not comfortable making?

He's not a dummy.. I would think he'd take those shots if he knew he could make them.

You guys are asking him to do something he isn't capable of doing proficiently. I'm glad he isn't.

I agree, the 3point shot is vital but he shouldn't be chucking them unless he’s comfortable shooting them. Don’t need anything messing with his confidence right now

His confidence would definitely take a hit if he were to start missing a bunch of 3's, which would also effect him in other areas.

Really interested in seeing what kind of player he'll be at 23.

So did Lonzo and Hart, in the same damn game, and it seems like we're good for one or two of those every night. Hire the shooting coach already...

Very much yes

Longer shorts are wider around the waist. Ingram is too skinny to fit them.

I think if Lonzo was hitting his shots, Ingram would feel like he could experiment and take more threes... but right now the rest of the team feels like they have no margin for error in order to pick up the slack. When both Zo and Lopez are shooting poorly, the team isn't sustainable and that has been the case a lot this year. If Zo's shots start falling at a reasonable level, if Lopez can rectify his FG% another 5% to meet his career average, and if they stop making an extra 3 turnovers a game to get to the league median... they are already a playoff team even before the elite FAs come.

But I digress... Ingram can't be shooting threes until Lonzo shoots like a normal NBA player... and Lopez plays like himself. It's not fair, but it takes a lot to overcome a historically low shooting starter. The good side is that we are the eighth seed even with Lonzo shooting 30%. It's no exaggeration to say we'd be competing for up to a fifth spot if he can get it to 40%

He should try all his best to get a workout with KD over the summer. If he can get his shots falling automatically , his drives will be even much easier.

If he keeps getting stronger, how the heck will anybody stop his drives a couple of years from now?

The good defensive teams have done that, that is why the jumper will change their approach to guarding him.

I'm impressed with Ingram. His ability to get to the rim and finishing is improving game by game. Just thinking about what he looked like during preseason, it's amazing how much better he looks just 20 games into the season. The jumper is going to take a couple of years to develop, but I think he'll get there even if he ultimately relies more on the mid-range J than the 3 ball. I also like how his passing game is coming along. He had tunnel vision on his drives at the start of the season but is now doing a much better job of driving and kicking.

Use one of the one max slots on Chip Engelland.

With how often he takes it to the rack, I'm pretty surprised he doesn't go to the line more often. It would be "difficult" for me to believe everyone he runs into is executing perfect verticality.

I thought that too.
But he actually shot 58.5% in the restricted area last year.
This year, he's 59.6%. So not that much of a higher %.
The big difference is that he's getting to that area at a higher frequency.

2016-17: 124/212 attempts at 58.5%
2017-18: 65/109 attempts at 59.6%

He's already gotten half as many shots in the restricted area as last year in only 22% of the games played. Is that nuts?

That is. I think I read he averaged 2 drives to the rim last year and this year he averages around 8. He's in full attack mode.

1/3 Durant. 1/3 Giannis. 1/3 Devin Ebanks.
I still think he's adjusting to his body.
Can't wait to see what a grown man Ingram will look like.

Stronger Ingram with a jumpshot will be a double team waiting to happen.

I think people forgot how good Ingram was last year at finishing to close the season. Actually, as early as last December he started finishing well. I think that's when he stopped going off of two feet every time.

only 7 FGA tonight. either he needs to demand the ball more or luke is simply not playing through him. the fact that low IQ JC had almost twice the FGA as brandon is unacceptable.
