I was just going to say you guys should make a quote limit.
OT but I wish there was a way to “quote” just a specific post, and not its replies. Hard to cut quote trees in mobile, at least for me.
Right. It's much easier said than done. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. And people who would be happy in heaven if Christ were not there, will not be there."

That's because there is none. They've been imposing that assumption onto the FO for over a year with absolutely no evidence to support it. That's why I keep beating the drum: if not being drafted by them means anything, then why didn't they trade him last year for George? That was all it would've taken to get that deal done last year. And yet, they were more content to gamble and wait it out a year rather than surrendering BI. And now here we are another year later. They just saw their gamble of keeping BI not pay off, yet they were willing to do it all over again, this time with Kawhi. How does this make any sense whatsoever if not being the ones who drafted BI means anything? This isn't complicated.
I think they were confident they had a great chance to get PG in FA and I think they are still confident in that with Kawhi. I think that getting LeBron made them unwilling to trade any of the young core(at least BI, Kuz, Ball) not just BI. He failed to meet Magic’s own expectations for him last year and is the only one of the bunch not drafted by Magic. Not saying they don’t like him, just disagreeing about him being the favorite.
”Failed to meet Magic's expectations”?
Not only is that a poor choice of words, it isn't even accurate of what actually happened. Magic gave him the goal of averaging 20 ppg last season, yes, but that goal was scrapped very early because Luke stepped in, which wasn't at all surprising to me. Luke knew that just labeling him a scorer wasn't the right way to develop him, so they readjusted his role and told him to forget about averaging 20 and just go out there and play. And that's what he did. And we saw the best version of him when he was simply being a an all-around playmaker instead of just a scorer.
To phrase it as him ”failing to meet Magic’s expectations” is just reckless. You're making it sound like Magic told him, ’Average 20 ppg next year, or you're outta here, buddy.” My impression of that goal was always just that- a goal. Magic was just trying to get the best out of him by helping him think big. If Magic is really looking at his season the way you are (i.e. failure in reaching his expectations) then wouldn't that have been all the more reason to trade him for Kawhi?
He didn’t fail to meet my expectations nor do I believe they were reasonable. You’re right, probably a poor choice of words. He didn’t reach the goal magic set for him. That, paired with him not being drafted by the current FO, makes me think they don’t hold him in higher regard than the rest of the young core.
I don’t think Magic is looking at it as average 20 ppg a year or he’s out. I never said anything close to that. I said ALL the young core are under pressure to get better and perform. I also said getting better doesn’t necessarily mean better stats. Stop trying to twist my words and make up things. I said he failed to meet Magic’s unrealistic expectations so I don’t think he’s the favorite over the rest of the young core. You turned that into me saying Magic is demanding him to score 20 or he’ll be traded. That’s what’s reckless and inaccurate.
He said he’s coming out w a fashion line, which means at least 1/3rd of the smartest Laker fans will think he doesn’t focus on basketball enough. Rap/fashion vs basketball

I have no idea who the FO's actual favorite is....but I would not be surprised if each had their FO fans. I think....or at least it appears Ingram has the most value around the NBA. That being said, my assumption is 13 guys on the roster (all except LBJ) will kind of be given a clean slate this year with the only goal being to demonstrate how well they fit and can provide value on a Lebron James contending roster....those that prove to fit the best will most likely stick around....if there are players that do not appear to be a good fit, they will likely find new homes. I doubt external value or what a player did in previous years will weigh heavily on that decision.....should be interesting. I can give you my theories on who will and will not be optimal fits.....and there is probably about a 50% chance I am right.....because this really is a whole new evaluation phase with a different goal, and it will just have to play out.
