With no other star running mates available right now, it sounds like Lebron is really trying hard to talk himself into our young core if we've reached the Scottie comparisons already But in all honesty, it's going to be fun to see the kids actually get the opportunity to run with Lebron. I'm really happy that we avoided the Wiggins route with them, whether it was by design or the Spurs just saving LeMaginka from themselves.

I think as LBJ ages, he understands that he will need as many lively and competent young players around him, ergo his liking the young core.

Funny, you know who is today's Scottie Pippen? Kawhi Leonard. I've felt for a while that was Ingram's best comp too. Funny enough though, Pippen didn't even enter the league until he was 22.... which will be Ingram's 4th year in the league.

yeah, "I just don't see it with this kid"

He might not have the "elite" athleticism of Giannis, but who does? But he definitely has elite length, his handles are actually tighter than Lonzo's right now, and his shot can only get better.

When he is aggressive he looks unstoppable, even the likes of Anthony Davis or Paul George have trouble with him. Am hoping he keeps that aggression even with Lebron around.

Imagine how good he can be next to Lebron

Glad to see sentiments changing, their games really are similar.

I remember being so pissed off watching the refs let Pippen pelvic pump Magic down the court. I guess he did a good job defending though.

He knows he's got one year to really work with Luke to groom and elevate these kids. Which I think will happen.

Then he enters FA 2019 with the ability to recruit after winning 50+ games, a great young core who's proven to be studs, and a entertaining & winning style of ball.

LeBron - end of prime superstar
Kawhi- prime superstar
BI/Kuz/Zo- future all stars ready to explode
+ Hart, Moe, Svi

This was the way to have the best immediate shot and one that would last til the day he retires, while he waits to play against his son.

Offensively, I can kind of see it. Defensively, I don't see it. Pippen had a great steal rate from day 1 which was probably an indicator of his defensive potential and IQ (same for Lonzo).

Pippen also entered the league at 22, which would be two seasons from now for Ingram.

Yea, not like I've been comparing Ingram's stats to guys like Pippen on page 1 of this very thread since last season began. No need to exaggerate.

True, I just haven't seen anything that makes me think Ingram will be a great defender. It feels like we just assume he'll be good on defense because of his height and length. Having said that, I remember Durant being pretty bad on D, and he turned the corner in his 3rd season.

I just pointed you to where I did mention Pippen months and months before "a few months ago." And, by the by, the reason Pippen was mentioned in those comparisons from back in November 2017 was because many people thought of that as a decent comp. I think Ingram is getting a fair shake by this board and fans in general. More than fair even.

With all due respect I think you've went left with my post.. I never said anything about anyone not being fair, maybe you can put in quotes how I communicated that to you. I simply said the reactions I got weren't good when I responded to a video GT posted. I don't know how long ago it was to be honest, but it was more than a few months ago. Now if you posted stats that referenced them both before my comment that's fine, It's really not a big deal to me.

Also from page 949 in Feb.. a few posts after mine.

Pippen didn't enter the league until age 22. Here is a per 36 minute comparison of Ingram now and Pippen in his rookie year:

Ingram (Age 20): 16.9 PPG (52.1% TS), 5.8 RPG, 3.9 APG, 0.8 STL, 0.8 BLK
Pippen (Age 22): 13.6 PPG (48.9% TS), 6.5 RPG, 3.7 APG, 2.0 SPG, 1.1 BPG

Not really a comparison defensively, yet... offensively, Ingram is clearly on par (and maybe ahead as a scorer) despite being two years younger.

If you or anyone else referenced these two players prior to, I missed it. Which would make my initial claim inaccurate, I don't exaggerate though.

Bottom line, people aren't as put off by the comparisons anymore is all I'm saying.

Not seeing the Pippen from BI. Pip was cat quick on defense and BI will never have that. Not to mention offensively BI is a more natural scorer.

A better scoring Pip on offense and a Tayshaun Prince on D would still be a 5+ time all-star.

@ ingle.. I say Pippen in the sense that he manages and orchestrates the offense in a similar way.

I'm personally not comfortable in stating what any of our young players won't ever be. That kind of talk just seems odd to me, but to each his own.
