How they run the offense is going to be interesting to say the least. On paper it could be exciting with the Cousins, Davis and Holiday.

Wonder if they also add Barnes or any other released players to fill in the perimeter.

I have no confidence that Cousins will play nice with others. Just not his personality. Fully expect there to be a honeymoon period. Maybe even a playoff spot this year. But Cousins will be Cousins and this will end badly IMO. Perhaps even as bad as the Kobe/ Howard fiasco?

Would love nothing better than for this to implode and AD somehow become available

apparently boogie's agent said that he wouldn't re-sign with the team he was traded to and was looking at the lakers in 2018, which killed his trade value. could be a strong reason why we weren't willing to give anything up if we thought we had a good chance to get him in 2018 without a trade.

If that's what he was saying, it could have been more to save his DPE chances than any real interest in LA. Free agents often use us as the Boogie man (pun intended ).

Ingram the iron man of the 16 class. Did you know that BI has played 30% more minutes than the next guy in his class? For a super skinny kid that is impressive.

BI 1600
Sabonis 1235
Hield 1161
Murray 1116
Chriss 1070
nobody else over 900 min

I think it's more of a testament to how much his draft class sucks than his durability.

But yeah, I think Ingram's a tough kid.

Just to put this here.. because I see ALOT of Paul George trade talk on here (exclusively -- this isn't a thing outside of LakersGround lol) and including Brandon Ingram in those proposals because Brandon isn't going to be good..

I don't love comparing players in such a way.. but this method is pretty standard among these boards.

ROOKIE STATS.

Brandon Ingram:
8 PPG, 1.9 APG, 4.1 RPG, 30% on 3 Pointers, 36% FG

Paul George:
7.8 PPG, 1.1 APG, 3.7 RPG, 30% on 3 Pointers, 45% FG

I've seen this kind of comparison a lot, but the guy Ingram being compared to always has a 5-10% advantage in FG% even as rookies and people just seem to gloss over it as if that's not a huge difference. Continuing to shoot 45% from the field is pretty average but continuing to shoot 36% from the field means you're not likely to be an NBA player much longer.

It's extremely difficult to bring up percentages after such a poor start.

I was just posting those for comparisons sake. People are quick to want to get rid of Brandon Ingram for Paul George.. but their rookie stats look pretty identical minus the FG.

Of course, Brandon Ingram would have to follow the same trajectory that Paul George has.. but it's only been half of a season.

Also.

Small sample size (7 games) but so far in the month of February..

8.4 PPG, 1.7 APG, 4.6 RPG, 47% on 3 Pointers, 42% FG

In January..

9.1 PPG, 2.1 APG, 3.6 RPG, 33% on 3 Pointers, 37% FG

He's steadily improving. He's not regressing.

@MarkG_Medina

It meant a lot to Brandon Ingram that Lakers refused to include him in a possible Cousins deal. Appreciated Lakers like his potential

And it will mean a lot to us if you became the best player you can potentially be young man.

Can't help but gloss over those percentages because he had such a poor start. Even on draft night all reporters could talk about was how skinny he was. He needed to get stronger to reach his potential and he is quite aware of it. So you almost have to overlook his poor percentages right now because it is inevitable that he would get better as he gets stronger, older, and with more experience. He is already super blessed with his length and the tools he has to work with, along with his high bbIQ and work ethic that's why he is projected highly by almost everyone who watches the team play.

He looks like he can still drive and kick it out at the rack.

yes, I remember a few years ago Magic seemed to be gaining weight and I was worried, but it seems he's back on it. He apparently has been working out every morning, it's great to see him in good health and in good shape.

Works out with Byron in the morning apparently, and Man Up Musclebuster is fit himself. So good to see Magic is as well.

Ingram did a lot of that earlier in the season. Especially when he gets stronger, he should be able to do that on a consistent basis.
