Moz won't be on the team next season.

At least hopefully. Zubac and Black got it covered.

Zu is so impressive on the short roll already at 20 years old - his decisionmaking, body control, and touch make him such a valuable weapon against teams that hard hedge and trap Russell out of the PnR.

And going up against an offensive rebounding juggernaut like Thompson is great experience for him - block out, big Zu, block out.

Well, in 3 years, MozDeng are gone and Big Zu will be a Laker for life.

Zubac is excellent at finding the blue sky underneath the rim. He has a soft touch with both hands, has light feet, and knows how to fake out defenders with pump-fakes. As the Lakers add more talent and their youth develops, Zubac should have even more space to score inside. He’s been better defensively, too. It seems like Zubac finds himself getting posterized on a near-nightly basis, but at least he’s putting himself in harm’s way and attempting to alter shots. I’ve never bought into the narrative that a player should feel shame or embarrassment when they get demolished by a dunk.

As good as Zubac has been over the past few weeks, there’s a reason he fell to 32nd in the draft, and it wasn’t just his talent or the fact that other players might’ve been better. It was the injury concern. Zubac suffered a navicular stress fracture in his foot in 2014 — the Embiid injury — and then a knee sprain in 2015. We can only hope that Zubac stays healthy.

I knew Zubac had a knee injury in 2015; I didn't know about the foot injury. yikes .

He'll be on the team, but he'll also be enjoying the beaches in LA.

The foot injury was the biggest concern, as he sat down for 1 year, but his recovery was very good. About the knee, it was a mild sprain that can happen to anyone.

IMO injuries are the lay of the land for bigs the size, weight of Zubac. For him, I don't think it's a matter of if, but when he develops some re-occurring issues. Even despite that, he has immense talent and potential, and the Lakers should not be holding him back.

There were question marks about Marc Gasol being able to return to form after his foot injury. He's arguably playing the best ball of his career this season. I'm sure preparation/perseverance factors a lot into it. Zubac doesn't strike me as a guy who will take it easy. He wants to be great.

Man, didn't know he had a navicular fracture. That's an understandable red flag as that's sidelined a lot of NBA players. Hopefully he can stay away from the injury bugs b/c he's a nice core piece to have.

His support cast did a good job keep the game close in his absence. Dlo may be the guy missing him most because he was getting tons of solid screens on a night he was hot as hell. Late we had Julius anchoring the defense and switching on the opposite PG, great recipe for tanking.

Didn't know about the navicular fracture. Good thing his game doesn't overly rely on athleticism but hope he has a long productive career

His PER post all star game is at 20.2 and rising.

Just for the sake of comparison it is way above Myles Turner (15.4) and Porzingis (17.1).

Still leading our team by a wide margin since Lou left the town.

Now if only he could get minutes consistently in games we are likely to lose anyway.

Sadly if he played more than 19 minutes last game, we probably would have won.

Luke is in full tank commander mode and he seems to dislike playing 7 footers anyway since they did the same with Warriors. I just don't think it makes sense with our roster.

Black has been as weak as Mozgov. Both are off the bench players now.
Zubac can start, depending on matchups/foul trouble one of Black/Mozg will be the backup.

And PLEASE STOP playing Randle at C. This is the death of all the winning hopes.

Dude got abused tonight and it bothered me a bit how the Lakers commentators/analyst didn't see it when they were singing his praises at half time.

In the 3 games ZU has played in at least 29 minutes (29,30,36) he has 60 points (20PPG) with 8.7RPG. On 29-44Fg's over%65 from the field. In an average of 31.7 minutes....

He's young, I'm glad he's getting his reps, played 36mins tonight which is good for him. He's just too young to anchor our defense right now, hopefully he gets there soon.

17 and 7 for my man Zu.

Also good learning experience for him considering the amount of abuse he got from DJ and most of the Clippers big. At least Luke had the damn decency to play Zu actual minutes tonight.
