D'Lo/JC/Ingram/Randle/Zubac. We have every position covered for many years, future looking so bright hopefully we can get three superstars out of the core

If two end up being superstars we're golden, maybe even one if the rest can play at an almost star like level.

These guys and Nance should at least have long and productive NBA careers. Nance, Big Zu and Ingram are two way players that can impact a game defensively too.

We have a nice young core. We had it last season, but Ingram and Big Zu bring balance with the length, shooting and defensive presence. I still can't believe we found a legit big with a soft touch around the basket at #32 and the guy can also hit the mid distance jumper and is a die hard Lakers fan.

I agree with everything you said, and I still don't get why other teams didn't want to let Zubac play on their roster immediately. Flabbergasted. It doesn't hurt for him to be a 3rd Center in the depth chart.

He wasn't scouted well enough. He also said teams pack the paint in Europe, so he wasn't able to display much of his skill set beyond setting screens or running the floor. No one knew he had a jumper because he wasn't allowed to use it. I'm surprised as well but it happens. Kudos to that international scout Mitch has on his staff.

It was also widely reported around the time of the draft that he wanted to come over this year, which the Lakers were and are purportedly amenable to, and not be a draft and stash player, which supposedly gave a few teams that considered drafting him hesitation.

One of the announcers in a summer league game called him Inspector Gadget and I love it

I'm also partial to Big Z for Zubac too, the players and coaches have been calling him that

Big Z to me will always be Ilgauskas who also played for the Cavs.

I know people are going to use the "it's summer league" thing, but he's doing this against cats who have a good 2-5 years on him. The instincts are amazing and can be honed.

The most amazing thing about him really is that he makes routinely makes the defensive contest and doesn't foul. Really uncommon for a young player. Not sure if he can handle the pace of the NBA game just yet, but his instincts and positioning are really great.

He's shown it against every top competition he's ever had to face. Even on draft night, Franscila showed a clip of him swatting away Harry Giles twice. Harry Giles projected #1 overall in 17.

According to Mitch, Zubac only got 1 practice in with the team before the Summer League games started.

“He really only had one practice under his belt, and expectations were very low,” Kupchak said.

Making his success in summer league games even more impressive
