I was really hopeful for him last year. haven't seen much improvement this year. don't think we could get anything for him at this point, so might as well let him stay on the team another year and we can split from him in a year. |

If you can name a center that gets paid what Zubac gets paid and is a 3rd string player with the skills and age he has, by all means lets sign him. |

I think Zubac has a Nurkic-like ceiling. I hope we hold on to him as long as possible. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

Seems like he is even slower than last year. He supposedly lost a lot of weight but it appears that he lost a lot of muscle to go with the baby fat loss. |

I don't see the point in ripping a young player making close to the NBA minimum, while he is still learning and putting out a good effort. Zubac may never become great or a fulltime starter, but I bet he has at least a solid 10 year NBA career. I've taken it out on Deng and his $18 million salary, but that's because we expect something for that kind of compensation. But its a dead horse, why vent on an overpaid dead in the water veteran, or on a close to minimum wage 22 year old kid?
We had an improved season, lets focus on the positives of next year. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

Now with that said. he's still not as fast/quick as a lot of other nba bigs. but he never was and he never will be. with that said, its still a noticeable upgrade in speed/quicks from last year. |

I feel like the weight loss hurt his post game somehow. I used to feel like he was automatic in the post last year...now he’s trash. |

Zu has shown basically nothing this year. Really disappointing.
He’s slow, can’t jump, plays soft, etc.
Let’s not try to make him out to be better than what he is.
Could be be decent in a few years? Absolutely. But the fact is he didn’t look any better than he did a year ago. |

What has he shown?
I’ve sadly watched too much of him down the stretch.
Doesn’t have a a post move, can’t switch into smaller players, is barely protecting the rim.
He had a few nice games with IT and made some layups but that’s not something that gives me hope for the long term.
What has he improved upon from last year? Legitimate question because he looks awful out there to me. It looks like the game is moving too fast for him.
He will probably grow into his body a bit more but to this day, he’s given us little hope. |

Zu will always suffer from a lack of athleticism. On the play where CP embarrassed him, it was 100% effort and 50% athleticism. I disagree with those who say he has no place in the league, I think he can be a solid backup. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

That play was a team defense problem not a Zu problem. A 7 footer should not be left on an island, as Stu would say, trying to stay in front of CP3. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

And the reason is because he lacks the lateral quickness to guard on the perimeter. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

^^Which is also why the big, plodding centers have limited value in today’s league. And when you're not really all that solid as a rim protector AND you can't space the floor? All of this is why Zu is probably out of the league after tonight.
Bryant has a ways to go defensively, but he has much quicker feet and will probably have a better chance than Zu does of staying in front of a smaller player on switches. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. I am not sure that Zu will be out of the league but I agree about the value of plodding centers. A raw product like Zhou on the Rockets has more of a future, he can move his feet well. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |
