Zu is going to come into camp with a ton of confidence. This is going to be a joy to watch. Go get em Zu, this is what you’ve worked all your life for.

You belong here. You were destined to dance in Purp&Gold championship confetti.

Anything can still happen, but between the assumptions being made before Bryant was waived, and the current "we still need a starting center" thread, I'm lol just a little at how much a few people are spinning their wheels to not acknowledge Zubac's viability as a starting center, which in this day and age is a relatively low threshold.

Also, it's worth noting that Zubac was considered to be a "draft and stash" candidate when he was selected. Which is to say that he was considered a long-term project. He apparently impressed enough to be added to the roster immediately, but the Lakers obviously knew that patience was required. Obviously, the time is now.

Rooting for Zu. Nurkic should be his goal. If he gets in good enough NBA shape, he can affect the game on both sides of the floor.

Yup- he is only 21 and entering his 3'rd year in the league now. So he should be hitting his stride. IDK man, but he looks different now in the national team clips. I am hoping he has turned the corner and will be able to play minutes this year.

Zubac was considered a draft and stash in the same way Marc Gasol was.

But you watch Gasol at the same age as Zubac and Zubac is ahead of the curve.

Zu showed nice signs of progress end of last year. Hope he builds on that and didn't go through another summer of doing apparently nothing.

Zubac does well with someone who can actually use his picks. Last year he had great chemistry with IT.

His physically maturing too. Looked like jello his rookie year, sort of shed the baby fat. Yr 3, can’t wait to see the ‘Randle’ transformation

All these posts with so much confidence and praise for Zubac are winning me over.

Still not expecting a lot from him or the center committee but if professional and competent maybe enough for this roster, this year.

Still need to see it on the court but I'm open to the possibility of it working.

He has been playing with his national team this summer and kicking arse.

Hoping the national team work will translate. His problem in the NBA is that he still makes clumsy mistakes and he gets pushed around. And the international game spaces and moves differently. We'll see. I'm really hoping he can come into his own.

not signing Lopez is a blessing for him. he has 1st until the deadline, and then until April (whatever date it is possible to sign released player until) to cement his place in the team. rooting for him to pull it off!

Ok, maybe not ‘The’ Randle transformation’, that was impressive... maybe post baby-fat Marc Gasol or Evan Turner or Jabari Parker?

I could see a Marc Gasol type change... though, he would need to do more work in the weight room. Maybe another a couple more years before he really builds out his frame.

It is hard to say which Laker will show the most progress this next year. We expect strong improvements from BI, Ball, Kuzma, and Hart. We also expect to see Wagner and Svi outperform their draft position. Still, I think the biggest surprise will be the improvement from Zubac.

Not unless he worked with Amoila

But he's definitely had a transformation
