I'm surprised that on a lot of these report cards, the Celtics got A+ grades

Let's see what that grade looks like in 10 years.

Kind of hard to not get an A in a two player draft when you have the #2 pick. In this case, it is either an A or an F this early.

Of course. But they didn't (bleep) this one up. No Anthony Bennett situation.

does picking #2 and taking Ingram even deserve a grade? I mean, how much more of a no brainer do you need? Zubac at#32 is an unknown so that grade is n/a as well IMO

Of course it does. We could have theoretically done the asinine move of selecting someone like Buddy Hield at #2, which would have deserved a D-.

For the #2 pick, absolutely.

I'm not saying Buddy in isolation is a D- player, but a #2 that's a ridiculous overreach.

I agree. Buddy isn't a bad player and he has a future in the NBA. I just think that Ingram has too much going for him. He's this lanky 18 year old still growing into his body and he's already doing work on offense and defense.

Well...it's been known to happen. Rarely, albeit....

....And with the 2nd pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, the Detroit Pistons select...

Dwyane Wade??? Nope.

Carmelo Anthony??? Try Again.

Chris Bosh??? Let's think outside the box here.

Darko Milecic!!!!

Immediate post draft grades make for good conversation but are essentially meaningless and have no predictive value.

I wasn't as impressed with the Celtics draft as the "experts" were, I felt they reached a lot on players....of course they could all turn out mostly aces, they have a good coach, but took a number of players at questionable spots...I still see them stuck as a middling team, who might be better record wise than us for a couple of years, but I think our overall trajectory looks much much better

Then why bother posting in a thread where I'm factually just gathering what pundits graded the Lakers?

Sure. But it helps to see how our picks were rated. It's not saying that we are now set for a championship b/c we had an A draft. It's showing we are making the right moves.
