Sign Horford this year. Sign Westbrook next year. Let the young guys grow a few years. I strongly believe we are two years away from being a legit contender. Not this year, where I see a 45 win season after free agency, but soon. Mitch has done a brilliant job and we've been lucky to be in the lottery for the last three years. Our roster in a few years:
PG--Russell, Clarkson
SG--Westbrook, Clarkson
SF--Ingram, A. Brown (I am hopeful)
PF--Randle, Nance
C--Horford, Zubac
Horford is our number one target and we need to sell it well. And please, for the love of God, do not go after DeRozan! |

Don't really see Horford choosing this team due to his age and wanting to win |

Really doubt Harford comes on the promise that maybe we get Westbrook next year. Going to need other commitments before he'd take us seriously, unless he really doesn't mind a rebuild. |

Im not sold on Horford. He averaged 3 rebounds vs the Cavs in the playoffs. Other than Randle, Lakers dont have much size or length so rebounding would be an issue. His defene was also awful in that series. I want a defensive beast because the Lakers have enough scorers in Clarkson, Ingram, DAngelo, and Lou Williams. |

Lets get Whiteside first. With Whiteside on the board, I believe Horford and other free agents will strongly consider us. Whiteside should be our first priority. _________________ My Dream Starting 5 next Season

Don't care about junk players. You will see the top flight players start taking 1 year deals and it's a matter of time before they band together on some team. Lakers just need to wait to make that happen. |

Definitely prefer Whiteside to Horford. I would go after both hard right at the start of free agency and gauge the interest quickly.
If we don't get either, maybe we can pry Steven Adams away from OKC after next season. But Presti is sly, that trade of Ibaka could have ruined that chance now.
I would prefer not to get DeRozan at max and not sure he would come anyway. Rather see Ingram, Russell, Clarkson? develop on the perimeter with a lot of minutes this season. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Definitely think the Ibaka trade was made partly with Adams' upcoming max contract in mind. He's going to be an RFA so you might as well give up on that dream. |

This is all fine and dandy but what do you plan to do to meet the minimum salary cap required of teams? Who do you think would sign a 1 year contract with the Lakers? |
